Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Cal’s Lightsaber is Coming to Galaxy’s Edge

Since the park opened last May, Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge has quickly become one of the most enticing attractions available at both Florida and California’s Disneyland Parks. The immersive experience allows visitors to make their way through several Star Wars-themed attractions, including the Smuggler’s Run ride and the Oga’s Cantina bar.

The park also allows visitors to buy their own lightsabers, with insanely accurate replicas called “Legacy Lightsabers” available to purchase from the Dok Ondar’s Den of Antiquities store. Demanding a fairly hefty price from visitors, these striking collector’s items consist of a near-perfect recreation of a certain Star Wars character’s lightsaber hilt and sit inside an appropriately themed metallic case. Visitors can then purchase a separate light-up blade that fits inside the hilt.

While the majority of the iconic Star Wars movie heroes and villains have their sabers accounted for in the collection, Disney has decided to branch out from its set of cinematic protagonists with the newest addition to the set. Joining the park next year, Cal Kestis, the hero of the critically acclaimed Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, will have his blade join the park’s collection. This is the first video game character to have a weapon purchasable in Dok’s store, with the decision being willed into existence by fans through a recent contest on the Disney Parks Blog.

It’s a testament to the success of Respawn Entertainment’s take on the Star Wars universe that Cal’s lightsaber will be featured alongside the likes of Luke Skywalker’s, Darth Vader’s, and Obi-Wan Kenobi’s weapons. For those wondering which lightsabers Cal beat out in the Disney Parks Blog contest, the other options were Star Wars Rebels protagonists Ezra Bridger and Kanan Jarrus, as well as Qui-Gon Jinn, Vader Immortal‘s Lord Corvax, and Anakin Skywalker’s original blade. Those are some big names, making Cal’s eventual win all the more impressive. Hopefully, some of the other options featured in the poll will get to come to the park soon.

As for other Legacy Lightsabers meant to be on their way, Disney already has the next two collectibles lined up for release before the end of 2021. The first of these will be Ahsako Tano’s double lightsabers from The Clone Wars, while the second will be the signature curved saber belonging to Star Wars: Attack of the Clones antagonist Count Dooku. All in all, it seems Disney is continuing to do an excellent job of delivering lightsabers for diehard fans of the movies as well as those who are more engaged in the franchise’s extended universe.
