Earlier this year, popular YouTube personality MrBeast hosted a $250,000 Rock, Paper, Scissors tournament that was ultimately won by Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag. MrBeast has now followed that up with a special event he called Creator Games 2, which took place this past Saturday night, October 17, pitting 24 creators against each other for the chance to win $300,000. Some high profile names participated in MrBeast’s tournament, but the winners were none other than TikTok stars Charli and Dixie D’Amelio.
The way this latest MrBeast Creator Games worked was that each challenge was determined by a “Wheel of Games.” This gave it much more variety than the Rock, Paper, Scissors tournament, and also kept the contestants on their toes. In the finals, the D’Amelio sisters chose Dixie to represent the team in a final battle against comic book artist and YouTuber ZHC. Dixie managed to beat ZHC in a trivia challenge to win the $300,000 prize money. The D’Amelios plan on donating the money to “people who really need it,” with more information to come on the family’s YouTube channel.
The inclusion of stars like the D’Amelio sisters and KSI ensured that this was a high profile tournament, with nearly 1 million people tuning in to watch. However, MrBeast’s CreatorGames 2 was almost even bigger, as it was originally set to include the world’s most famous Twitch streamer, Tyler “Ninja” Blevins in a first-round match against Addison Rae.
Unfortunately, Ninja had other obligations that kept him from participating in the tournament, and so Addison Rae instead went head-to-head with George Not Found, a YouTuber best known for uploading Minecraft videos. George Not Found was able to defeat Addison Rae in the first round, keeping her from squaring off against fellow TikTok stars the D’Amelio sisters.
Overall, it seems as though Creator Games 2 was a success, avoiding the controversies that surrounded the previous iteration of the event. The last Creator Games was mired in controversy somewhat, as Tfue leaked Mr Beast’s phone number during his stream. Unsurprisingly, Tfue was not one of the participants in this latest Creator Games tournament.
Considering the sheer success of this latest Creator Games tournament, it’s quite likely that Mr Beast will host similar events in future. Mr Beast is regularly giving away large sums of money on his YouTube channel, like when he gave away $20,000 in a Fall Guys contest that took place back in August, and so there’s no reason for him to stop now. In fact, Mr Beast’s entire YouTube channel is pretty much based around him giving away large sums of cash, with his YouTube videos costing millions to make as a result.
