Bandai Namco’s upcoming survival strategy RPG, Digimon Survive, has been pushed back into 2021.
Digimon Survive, the tactical RPG set in the Digimon universe, has now been formally pushed back into 2021.
After rumors surrounding the delay began circulating last week, Bandai Namco has now confirmed the day via an announcement on Twitter on Thursday.

Producer Habu Kazumasa confirmed that the game was being pushed back.
“We had originally planned to launch Digimon Survive in 2020 but current world events have shifted our development timing and we have made the difficult decision to push Digimon Survive’s launch to 2021,” he wrote. “We thank you all for your continued patience as we work to create a fun and engaging tactical RPG game along with a memorable story for Digimon fans!”
An actual release date has yet to be revealed, but Kazumasa noted that additional updates will be coming in “Spring 2021,” and that fans of the franchise should “stay tuned for more information.”
Digimon Survive was confirmed for the Nintendo Switch back in July 2018, and was initially supposed to launch in 2019 – so this is the second formal delay the game has suffered.
Here’s an overview of the game from Bandai Namco if you’re curious about the incoming title:
Digimon Survive sees a brand-new group of teenagers, led by Takuma Momozuka, get lost on a school camping trip, finding them transported to a strange new world of monsters and danger.
As they fight their way back home through an animated world of difficult decisions and deadly battles, players’ choices throughout the game will impact the evolution of their monster allies, and the final ending. Battles in the game are fought in 2D, in a more classic strategy RPG style.
