Call of Duty: Warzone has seen no shortage of clever plays in the months since its release, though less have featured C4 since the major nerf for the equipment in Warzone. One group of players has still made good use of the tool, however, sharing their clever strategy with players online.
The group, led by Redditor TheGullOfPeople, wipes out an enemy squad with C4 as if they were using a pre-patch version of the throwable explosives. The kills occur during a car chase, as TheGullOfPeople and his squadmates are being chased through Verdansk by another team in a vehicle. While their vehicle is being littered with bullets, the player in the clip tosses a lone piece of C4 on the road as opposed to fighting back.
When the enemy group finally closes the distance between their car and the C4 thrower’s vehicle, the C4 is detonated and wipes out the pursuers instantly. While taking out a vehicle with C4 has surely been done plenty of times in Call of Duty: Warzone, both the timing of this clip and the use of the ping system make this an expert level play by TheGullOfPeople’s squad. As pointed out by Reddit user BornWithAnAK, the player in the back seat does a “nice job using the ping to mark when to explode.”
With one player driving, another pinging the enemy at the perfect time, and the C4 thrower placing the explosive in a perfect spot, the execution of the trap set by the group could not have been any better. With players recently dealing with an upsurge in cheaters and hackers within Warzone, it is nice to take some time to appreciate a high-skill (and legitimate) play being made within the battle royale game.
However, once players view the clip and take tips from TheGullOfPeople on “how to use C4 properly”, Warzone fans will likely go back to arguing about the new finisher added in the game’s 16 Bit Tracer pack. The special execution completely disintegrates enemies, turning them into a pile of bright-colored pixels. While plenty of players love the funny new addition, others argue that this new Warzone finisher ruins the game. With both Modern Warfare and Warzone keeping a mature and serious tone throughout the DLC season, some fans dislike seeing the goofier new cosmetics.
With Warzone adding a Jigsaw skin for Halloween, however, it seems Infinity Ward is prioritizing fun over realism for future cosmetics. Love or hate the new visual styles, at least players who watch this clip will have a better idea of how to use the C4 within Warzone.
