Rainbow Six Siege Confirmed for Xbox Game Pass | Game Rant

This past weekend, Xbox teased the possibility of Ubisoft’s popular Rainbow Six Siege being added to its Game Pass service. Now it’s official: Rainbow Six Siege has been confirmed for Xbox Game Pass, and it will be joining the service on Thursday, October 22, meaning fans only have to wait a few days before they can jump into the action.

Meanwhile, those that do decide to play Rainbow Six Siege on Game Pass should note that they can purchase content for it at a discount. Game Pass subscribers can get 10% off various Rainbow Six Siege in-game items, which includes the Year 5 Pass. This will grant players access to more playable characters and other helpful items, so they may want to consider picking up the Year 5 pass if they like what they play.

Rainbow Six Siege is a big “get” for Game Pass for a couple of reasons. For one, Rainbow Six Siege one of the most popular esports games, and it being added to Game Pass should give a huge boost to its community on Xbox. Secondly, Rainbow Six Siege is one of Ubisoft’s biggest games, and this could very well pave the way for more Ubisoft games to be added to the Game Pass subscription service.

Needless to say, if Microsoft were to add more Ubisoft games to Xbox Game Pass, it would give the subscription even more value than it already has. Next month, to coincide with the Xbox Series X release date, Microsoft is adding EA Play to Game Pass, and so if it were to add Ubisoft games to the mix as well, it would make Game Pass an absolute must-have for anyone that owns an Xbox console. Only Rainbow Six Siege is confirmed for Game Pass so far, but perhaps Ubisoft is using it to test the waters before committing more of its titles to the service.

Ubisoft and Microsoft seem to have a close relationship, with Ubisoft serving as one of the biggest Xbox Series X supporters when that console launches on November 10. One of the most high-profile Xbox Series X launch titles is Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, a fact that Microsoft in its Xbox Series X marketing campaign.

Rainbow Six Siege‘s addition to Xbox Game Pass also means big things for Xbox Series X. A next-gen version of Rainbow Six Siege is in active development, and one has to imagine that it will be available for Game Pass as well.

Rainbow Six Siege is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions also in development.
