Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Map Has TranZit Easter Egg

For two weekends in a row now, Call of Duty fans have had the chance to try the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War multiplayer beta, taking a crack at the game’s various multiplayer maps. One Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War multiplayer map in particular has proven to be full of easter eggs, including one easter egg that seems to be a nod to the popular Black Ops 2 Zombies map TranZit.

When playing on the Cartel map in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, players can find a destroyed red semi truck that appears to be identical to a truck from Black Ops 2‘s TranZit map. This discovery was shared on TikTok by user ultragamingclips, showing that the two vehicles are virtually identical. Elsewhere on the Cartel map, fans can find other references to Black Ops 2, including information on that game’s villain.

What makes this TranZit easter egg particularly interesting, though, is that TranZit has been rumored for Black Ops Cold War for quite some time. Months before Black Ops Cold War‘s Zombies mode was revealed, some reliable Call of Duty series leakers made the claim that a TranZit remake map would be part of Zombies. Nothing official has been announced so far, but this easter egg could very well be pointing in that direction.

At launch, it appears though the only Zombies map Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will have is Die Maschine, a remake of Nacht der Untoten from World at War. While it’s possible that there will be more Zombies maps in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War at launch, nothing has been announced.

That doesn’t mean there won’t be more Zombies content for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War come launch day, though. In fact, Treyarch has teased that fans can look forward to Dead Ops Arcade 3, which will likely be a top-down twin-stick shooter if past variations of the mode are any indication.

All new Zombies DLC maps will be free in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, so if TranZit does eventually make its way to the game, fans won’t have to pay extra for it. There are plans to support Black Ops Cold War well after launch with new multiplayer and Zombies maps, as the game will have seasonal content not unlike Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, with optional Battle Passes that fans can purchase if they so desire.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War launches November 13 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
