Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Releases New Golden Frieza DLC Screenshots

The meat of Dragon Ball‘s Golden Frieza Arc revolves around Frieza’s invasion of Earth after obtaining his all-new Golden Form. Said invasion leads to an all-out battle between the Z-warriors and the Frieza Force army, and in the end, Goku and Vegeta utilize their new Super Saiyan Blue transformation to fight Golden Frieza in separate one-on-one bouts.

There are new Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot screenshots that display moments from this battle that the game will adapt through its upcoming Golden Frieza DLC, more formally known as A New Power Awakens — Part 2. There are seven images in total, and they come by way of Dragon Ball Hype on Twitter.

Said Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot images see Vegeta Blue going toe-to-toe with Golden Frieza and show off the rest of the available Z-Warriors teaming up with Z-combination attacks to take down Frieza’s foot soldiers. While the Z-combination attacks aren’t anything fans haven’t seen before, the screenshots do reveal that the Golden Frieza DLC will take a few liberties with the Golden Frieza Arc, which is something to be expected. The extent of just how differently things will play out is unknown at this point, but it probably won’t be by much.

Fans can see the differences in the image displaying Goku zipping around and taking down multiple enemies at once. In the movie and anime adaptation of this battle, Goku Blue and Vegeta Blue don’t arrive on Earth in time to battle the Frieza Force. The rest of the Z warriors pretty much wipe them out beforehand. It’s only after Frieza demolishes the Z-warriors that Goku and Vegeta make their grand entrance.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot probably made this change to help pad the Golden Frieza DLC’s runtime. One of the biggest complaints fans had about A New Power Awakens — Part 1, or the Beerus DLC, was that it was way too short. Admittedly, though, the DLC being short was predictable considering the Dragon Ball arc its adapted from — Battle of Gods — was short itself, as it was originally just an hour and a half movie.

The length of both DLC’s probably wouldn’t be such a big deal if it weren’t taking so long for Golden Frieza to arrive. It’s been nearly half a year since A New Power Awakens — Part 1 came out, and fans still don’t have a release date for Part 2. Hopefully, the next news update for the Golden Frieza DLC changes that.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
