Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales looks like its going to be a worthy follow-up to 2018’s massive hit Marvel’s Spider-Man on PS4. From the various bits of Miles Morales PS5 gameplay that players have seen so far, it seems that this next title is keeping that same frenetic and fast-paced action intact.
Insomniac is also doing its best to flesh out the new characters and setting for Miles Morales before launch. Recently, Insomniac’s official Twitter account released a short video that shows a text conversation between Spider-Man: Miles Morales’ titular hero and his friend Ganke Lee, who has some new ideas for Miles’ suit.
Those familiar with Miles Morales from his comic book origins are probably also familiar with his long-time pal, Ganke Lee. For those who aren’t, Ganke Lee is the Korean American best friend of Miles Morales and is one of the very few people who knows that Miles is Spider-Man. As one of the new characters introduced in Miles Morales, it seems like Ganke Lee is a gifted engineer who might end up helping Miles with some of his suit upgrades. This bit of information comes from a brand new clip from Insomniac that shows a text exchange between Miles and Ganke as they talk about recent events in Harlem and Miles’ new role as Spider-Man.
While Ganke Lee hasn’t been given too much of an official introduction yet, fans of the Miles Morales character can infer a bit of what his character will be like in Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Ganke Lee in his initial comic book form has a knack for tinkering with computers and is typically a bit nerdy. Ganke Lee in Spider-Man: Miles Morales looks to maintain that general personality trait and skillset, but it seems Insomniac is making him out to be a bit of an engineer-type this time around. In fact, Insomniac has shown of new Spider-Man suits in Miles Morales, and some eagle-eyed fans might notice that one of those new suits looks exactly like the new suit that Ganke Lee pitches to Miles through text.
Though the clip is only about a minute and a half long, it does a great job fleshing out the world surrounding Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Insomniac also released a text conversation between Peter Parker and Miles, that similarly fleshed out the relationship between Peter and Miles going into Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Though none of these clips show off new gameplay, they’re an extremely charming way to get players invested in what’s to come.
Insomniac has confirmed that Spider-Man: Miles Morales is not a full-on sequel to 2018’s Spider-Man strictly speaking, but the game looks great in its own right. Seeing as Spider-Man: Miles Morales is a PS5 launch title plenty of players who will be buying the console at launch will be making time for it. Thankfully, those staying on PS4 can also see what Ganke Lee and Miles’ tag team has in store for them in Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
Spider-Man: Miles Morales launches November 12 for PS4 and PS5.
