By now, many people have heard of or even watched the show Animal Talking, the talk show that takes place in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, starring guests like Xbox head Phil Spencer. The show is hosted by Rogue One screenwriter Gary Whitta, who is taking the show off of hiatus to bring three exciting new guests.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is one of the multiple games that have seen a huge boost in popularity during quarantine and social distancing situations. People have used the game in unconventional ways, like to throw birthday parties for far-off friends and to create unique clothing items that reflect their personalities.
Gary Whitta turned to ACNH to start an interview program, which he recently put on hold for his Fall Guys virtual talk show. Now that the aptly named Talk Guys hasn’t performed as well as Whitta hoped, he is returning to the more successful Animal Talking to bring fans the interviews they’ve enjoyed. His three new guests will be former Mixer streamer (and now Twitch streamer again) Shroud, the musical group Gorillaz, and the former co-host of Talk Guys, Kate Stark.
Whitta mentioned how the Animal Talking guests‘ schedules are complicated enough that the episode was pre-recorded, but will appear as a YouTube Premiere Friday at 7 PM PT. Whitta will be in the live chat to respond to viewers as they watch the stream. Not only were these three guests difficult to schedule at the same time, but they all represent different genres and interests, enough that many Animal Talking fans will hopefully be able to watch at least one interview that excites them.
Shroud is an immensely popular streamer whose return to Twitch a few months ago has only cemented that virality, and Gorillaz is one of the most well-known virtual acts in the UK. Kate Stark is no stranger to the entertainment industry, as she runs her own Twitch channel and used to be much more involved in Animal Talking. Previous guests on the show have included voice actresses Ashley Johnson and Laura Bailey from The Last of Us 2, actress Brie Larson, and musician Sting.
Animal Talking fans can hope that Gary Whitta and his show are here to stay this time, at least for a while. Time will tell if Whitta dabbles in other game-based talk shows like Fall Guys, but until then, hopefully, Animal Talking will keep featuring important guests in new and upcoming episodes.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available now on Switch.
