The map of Verdansk in Call of Duty: Warzone is massive and many of the buildings are easy to become lost in. With so many multi-floored structures in the game, it is not surprising that many Warzone fans are unable to find the Gulag outside of the 1v1 arena. Turns out that buried under the surface of the Prison is that very room.
Navigating the multi-floored building can become troublesome. Doors and stairwells are all over the Prison, and with the gas closing in, many Warzone fans simply don’t have time to learn every passage. Still, for those who have explored the many tunnels and passageways, there are two main routes that stand out when trying to find the Gulag.
Both of the routes begin with landing on, near, or in the Prison itself. Players should be warned that as the Prison complex is located near the edge of the map, it can often be one of the first zones overtaken by the gas. Careful planning will be necessary for those who wish to dive deeper into the massive fortress. Once a player reaches the building they will have to decide whether they want to go in through the top or crawl up from the bottom to reach their destination.
When approaching the Prison, players will first need to cross a massive bridge. This bridge leads into an entrance gate that has an open archway to the left and right. Players must take either the left or right tunnel, both ways work as they connect underground into a central passage.
Once in the tunnel players will find an opening that descends deeper into the Prison complex. Follow this tunnel and it will lead into a circular chamber very reminiscent of the 1v1 arena that is normally fought in. This is the default Gulag that is loaded into each match rather than the randomized one that players encounter upon death.
On the opposite side of the Prison at the very base is a sewer pipe that extends from the wall into the canyon itself. This sewer pipe leads into the center of the Prison several floors below the normal combat zone. Head through this pipe until it opens up to a large chamber. Follow the staircase to the north and it will lead to an upper ring similar to the caged walls found in the 1v1 arena version of the Gulag. This is the pre-generated Gulag where several chests of loot at stored. There is one main hallway that acts as an access point leading up to the surface from here.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
