Co-op real-time strategy game Dwarfheim is rolling into Steam Early Access today.
This is a multiplayer-centric take on the classic RTS genre that features a number of asymmetric, co-op game modes. Dwarfheim is developed by Norwegian studio Pineleaf, while Merge is handling publishing duties, and was revealed at the PC Gaming Show in June.
The title comes to Steam Early Access with a number of different modes. Conquest is a co-op multiplayer game type where players have to work together to destroy their enemies and their Town Hall. Skirmish, meanwhile, can be experienced either single-player or in online co-op, and has you fighting an AI-controlled rival army.
Those after a challenge mode would be advised to check out Survival, which automatically unlocks all classes, buildings, units and abilities and has you trying to outlast waves of trolls. Finally, Sandbox is for those who want a more relaxed experience, with users able to play at their own pace.
“The response to our first trailer for DwarfHeim was incredible – from the media, gamers adding us to their wish lists and content creators lining up to stream the game,” Pineleaf Studio CEO and game director Hans-Andreas Kleven said.
“The team has been counting down to the early access launch so we can finally pass our game into the hands of RTS fans everywhere – we really think DwarfHeim is something special and we can’t wait to share this journey with our community.”
