Pokemon Sword and Shield: How to Find and Catch Galarian Moltres

Pokemon Sword and Shield‘s The Crown Tundra DLC features Galarian variants of the Legendary bird trio, and many players will certainly be interested in catching all three. One of the Legendary birds that may be of particular interest is Galarian Moltres, and it can be found roaming in a specific area. For those fans that are looking for more information on this Galarian Moltres location in Pokemon Sword and Shield, or simply need some tips for catching the Legendary, this guide is here to help.

To start, players that are on the hunt for Pokemon Sword and Shield‘s Galarian Moltres should head to The Isle of Armor. Upon arrival, fans should fast travel to the Fields of Honor, and they will find their characters staring out to sea when they rematerialize. After a short time, Galarian Moltres will appear flying above this body of water, and now the pursuit for the Legendary bird can really begin.

To engage in this pursuit, players should pull out their Rotom Bikes, turn to their left, and ride up the beach that runs parallel to Moltres’s flight path. Eventually this path will lead fans to a grassy patch, and they should traverse it to reach a wooden bridge nearby. Across this bridge is a small building, and players should look to the right as they approach it to see the Legendary bird adjusting its course.

This new course will see the Galarian Moltres flying quite close to the bridge that was just crossed, and players should intercept it at this location and use their bike’s bell to get its attention. Now the fan should stand still in front of the Moltres, and eventually the Legendary bird will engage them in battle. At this point all that is left to do is catch the Pokemon, and while the process for doing so is quite straightforward, it may require a bit of patience on the part of the player.

This is because Galarian Moltres is quite resistant to being captured, and even the best Poke Balls in Pokemon Sword and Shield can feel ineffective when trying to catch this Legendary bird. The exception to this is, of course, the Master Ball, and players that still have theirs may want to finally dust it off for Moltres. This is certainly not requisite, though, and fans that commit to throwing a ton of Poke Balls will ultimately see the Legendary bird submit.

Pokemon Sword and Shield are available on Nintendo Switch.
