Microsoft Reveals Incredible Xbox One Mandalorian Controller, But It’s Expensive

Following its incredibly successful first season last year, The Mandalorian will be returning to screens in just a few days’ time for its highly-anticipated follow-up. The second season looks to be getting stuck right back into Din Djarin and The Child’s adventures, as the pair cross the galaxy completing jobs and interacting with some of the seediest characters in the Star Wars universe.

It seems there are some huge fans of the popular show over at Microsoft, with the company announcing that it’ll be offering a piece of tie-in merchandise for The Mandalorian in the near future. Already available for pre-order on the Microsoft Store, the company has debuted a new Xbox One controller influenced by the popular Star Wars TV show.

The basic design appears to replicate dirt-splattered Beskar steel, featuring a design resembling the armor worn by the show’s lead character. There are also two additional symbols featured on the controller’s grips, one being the Mandalorian Mythosaur and the other looking similar to the Mudhorn Din Djarin and Baby Yoda battle in the second episode of season 1. The package comes complete with a magnetic charger, featuring a similar Beskar steel design and an image of Mando’s helmet at the center.

It’s a striking controller to add to any Xbox One player’s collection, although it won’t come cheap. The controller is currently priced at a whopping $159.99 on the Microsoft Store, likely signifying that it’ll be a rare collector’s item with very few units made available. It currently sports a release date of December 31, 2020 on the Microsoft Store, however, the listing is almost certainly a placeholder date while the company figures out something firm. Seeing as the controller is for the Xbox One and not the Series X, this very well could be one of the last limited edition controllers the company ever releases for the console.

As for The Mandalorian, it looks as though the show is going full steam ahead over at Disney following the outstanding reception of its first season. Not only will the follow-up feature more of Mando and Baby Yoda exploring the far reaches of the Star Wars universe, but rumors are already stirring regarding potential cameos that are slated to appear. There’s already more content for The Mandalorian in the works as well, with Jon Favreau allegedly working on Season 3 and recently expressing interest in a movie spin-off. Fans only have to wait a few days to see the series return though, with The Mandalorian Season 2 airing on October 30.
