In 2019, Chinese indie game developer Pathea Games released My Time at Portia, a charming farming sim RPG that took inspiration from games like Harvest Moon, who popularized the genre back in the late ’90s. Now, Pathea Games announced that My Time at Portia is getting a sequel soon, which is titled My Time at Sandrock.
It is worth remembering that shortly after its release, My Time at Portia was able to sell over 1.7 million copies worldwide, which may not be a huge number but is still impressive nonetheless. Now, the same level of success is expected for My Time at Sandrock, which is set to release into Steam Early Access in March 2021, with a full release on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch in Summer 2022.
Similar to its predecessor, My Time At Sandrock shares some elements with games such as Stardew Valley, but with its own unique twist. Instead of a farmer, players will take on the role of a builder who owns a workshop in Sandrock. Players will spend most of their time completing various commissions from the townspeople and the government while progressing through its charming storyline.
Of course, given the massive popularity of Nintendo’s Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the release of My Time at Sandrock next year couldn’t have come at the right time, especially since a lot of players are looking for games that offer a relaxing and peaceful atmosphere as an escape from the woes of real life.
My Time at Sandrock is set to release in March 2021 via early access for the PC, with a full launch in Summer 2022 for the PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
