Since its release back in February 2019, Apex Legends has become one of the most popular battle royale games. Currently, Apex Legends is in its sixth season and the studio is now gearing up for Season 7, which is expected to bring tons of new content to the game.
It is worth noting that Season 7 has been moved up a week, and players can expect the upcoming chapter to launch on November 4. The earlier release date for Season 7 is definitely good news for fans, and for those interested in knowing what this new chapter brings, here is everything players should expect to see in Apex Legends’ Season 7.
After a long period of uncertainty, Respawn Entertainment finally confirmed that Horizon would be the new Legend in Season 7. The latest trailer provided Horizon’s origin story. The latest character was an astrophysicist who journeyed across the universe to stop an energy crisis from destroying the world, leaving her son behind.
Of course, Horizon’s confirmation in Season 7 debunks other candidates such as Valk and Ash, who were previously leaked to be Season 7’s newest Legends. Unfortunately, the latest trailer did not reveal Horizon’s kit and abilities, but dataminers provided insights into what players can expect from Horizon. According to dataminer Shrugtal, Horizon’s tentative abilities include Passive: Soft Landing, Tactical: Repulsor/Gravity Lift, and Ultimate: Black Hole.
As far as weapons are concerned, there are tons of leaks and speculation with regards to the new weapons that players should expect to see in Apex Legends Season 7. Unfortunately, nothing is officially confirmed. According to information discovered by dataminers, the Compound Bow is likely to be added in Season 7. This specific weapon was also spotted in an artwork released during Season 6, but it still hasn’t appeared in the game.
Moreover, leaks have suggested a new weapon type called Gadgets, which could appear in Season 7. According to data miner Shrugtal, the game’s files contained a code for Gadgets, and many speculate that these could be non-combat throwable items such as Smoke Grenades and the like. Similar to the Compound Bow, Gadgets never appeared in Season 6, which is why they are likely to appear in Season 7.
During Apex Legends’ fifth season, players speculated that Olympus would be a new location in the game, especially after it was heavily suggested in the Season 5 quest. Now, the studio finally confirmed that Olympus is indeed coming to Apex Legends. In the description of the new map, Olympus is “a beautiful, lush city in the clouds,” which is definitely a nice change from the usual maps currently in Apex Legends.
Several days ago, rumors began surfacing online about the possibility of Season 7 adding vehicles in the game. Once again, the rumor began from reliable dataminer Shrugtal, who was able to find a quest completion reward. The reward is a legendary charm that appears to be a hover vehicle complete with a driver’s seat and two passengers on the side. The dataminer speculated that the vehicle banners featured in Season 6, and the charm they recently discovered, were clear hints that vehicles will be added to Apex Legends in Season 7.
True enough, Respawn finally ended the rumors with the confirmation of a new vehicle called The Trident, which will be available in Season 7. Based on the trailer, the Trident will help players navigate the new map, and the vehicle has room for an entire squad. At the moment, it is still unclear whether players will be able to control The Trident or if it will travel between predetermined locations.
Apex Legends is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with a Switch version currently in development.
