Genshin Impact is Improving Fast Travel in Future Update

Players that are in the later stages of Genshin Impact have likely reached a point where traversal to certain locations has become cumbersome or tedious. In particular, locations like the various World Bosses necessitate that players teleport to a nearby Waypoint or Statue of the Seven and walk the rest of the way rather than teleport to their exact position on the map. However, it seems that miHoYo has a solution for these travel woes and players won’t have to wait long to try it for themselves.

Genshin Impact developer miHoYo took to the game’s official site a few days ago to announce some changes coming to the game in its 1.1 update. These quality of life changes all come in response to player complaints over various aspects of the game, including Genshin Impact‘s infamous Resin System.

In this post, miHoYo gave a small tease for an improvement coming to the game’s teleport system. The developer stated that it would be including a new item in version 1.1 for free that should cut down on travel time across the map. While miHoYo didn’t go into more detail than this in the post, it seems safe to say that players could likely be receiving the ability to set custom teleport points on the map, which would could greatly improve the amount of time spent grinding non-Resin Artifacts found in the world.

This blog post highlights another improvement that players have been looking for in Genshin Impact since the game released. As of the time of writing this, Genshin Impact currently has no way for players to customize their controls and key bindings, a setting that is fairly common in modern game releases. The post states that miHoYo is currently working on implementing this feature into the game, with some of this function becoming available in the 1.1 update.

All of these updates that miHoYo discusses in its post are but some of many of the improvements the studio has been working on for the game. In addition to these changes, miHoYo had made a previous post about other quality of life improvements coming in version 1.1, such as a detector that will allow players to locate Anemoculus and Geoculus a lot easier.

While quality of life improvements are certainly welcomed by the Genshin Impact community, players are likely more excited about the upcoming map expansion. This expansion will include an area known as Dragonspine just south of Monstadt and is set to release in December alongside the 1.2 game update.

Genshin Impact is available now on PC, PS4, and mobile devices, with a Switch version also in development.
