Pokemon GO: Best Halloween Cup Team | Game Rant

To celebrate the spookiest time of year, a new limited-time PVP cup has been added to Pokemon GO, called the Halloween Cup, with more special limits than just a simple CP limit. Instead, only certain Pokemon types are allowed to participate.

Because of the time of year and the current main event occurring in Pokemon GO, it isn’t hard to find Pokemon to participate. However, some are going to be better than others, with players really needing to plan around what kind of team they want.

There are only five different Pokemon types allowed in the Halloween Cup. They are bug, poison, dark, fairy, and ghost-types. Pokemon with another type alongside the allowed types are also permitted. Additionally, there is a CP limit of 1,500 for each Pokemon in the party.

Because of the limits in place, many players can’t take advantage of powerful Legendary Pokemon or beefed up fully evolved Pokemon. However, this just means that more planning needs to be done for players’ teams.

PVPoke has already been tracking the win/loss rates of the various Pokemon competing in the Halloween Cup. The top five Pokemon leading the wins are:

Azumarill is a dual water and fairy-type Pokemon and the final part of the Marill evolutionary line. The best moves for it to have in the Halloween Cup are Bubble for its fast move and either Play Rough, Ice Beam, or Hydro Pump for its charged move. It is only weak to electric, grass, and poison-type moves.

Alolan Marowak is a dual fire and ghost-type Pokemon. Its best moves for the Halloween Cup are Hex or Fire Spin for its fast move and Shadow Ball for its charged move. It is weak to dark, ghost, ground, rock, and water-type moves.

Wigglytuff is a dual normal and fairy-type Pokemon. The moves it should have for the Halloween Cup are Charm for its fast move and either Ice Beam or Play Rough for its charged move. It is only weak to poison and steel-type moves.

Crustle is a dual bug and rock-type Pokemon. For the Halloween Cup it is recommended for Crustle to have either Smack Down or Fury Cutter for its fast move and Rock Slide for its charged move. It is weak to rock, steel, and water-type moves.

Finally, Qwilfish is a dual water and poison-type Pokemon. It should have Water Gun as its fast move and Aqua Tail for its charged move. Quilfish is weak to electric, ground, and psychic-type moves.

When putting a team together, it is recommended for players to pick three of these Pokemon with their move recommendations in mind.

Pokemon GO is available for Android and iOS devices.
