Call of Duty: Warzone‘s playlist update earlier this week added new modes, but it didn’t include any fixes for some of the game’s lingering problems. Infinity Ward has since released a new update for Call of Duty: Warzone as well as the standard Modern Warfare multiplayer that fixes a variety of issues plaguing the games, as well as nerfs the controversial JAK-12 shotgun.
The new Call of Duty: Warzone update fixes an issue with Bunker 3, a Riot Shield glitch, and an exploit in Zombie Royale. Infinity Ward does not specify which exploit it fixed in Zombie Royale with the latest update, but it’s possibly referring to the spotter scope glitch that essentially gave players a built-in wallhack. Durable Gas Masks have also been removed from Warzone, though it’s unclear why that is.
As far as the JAK-12 shotgun nerfs go, Infinity Ward has removed the movement and ADS speed for the JAK-12 drum mags. It has also reduced the rate of fire for the JAK-12 when equipped with FRAG-12 ammo. These two changes should go a long way in reigning the JAK-12 shotgun in a bit, and will hopefully make it less overpowered. However, fans will have to try the newly-balanced shotgun out for themselves to be sure.
Meanwhile, standard Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer has also been tweaked with the new update. Modern Warfare pumpkin heads are back in the game, presumably for the duration of the Halloween event. While some fans may be excited at the return of pumpkin heads, others will be disappointed to learn that Snipers Only Team Deathmatch has been removed, though its removal is only temporary. Infinity Ward is fixing a bug in the mode, and has replaced it with 3v3 Gunfight – Snipers Only in the meantime.
With Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War‘s release date right around the corner, it’s likely that Modern Warfare updates are going to slow down. However, Warzone fans can look forward to continued support for the battle royale for some time to come, as it will start sharing a Battle Pass with Black Ops Cold War.

GENERAL FIXES:
- Fix for an issue where the code for Bunker 3 wasn’t functioning as intended
- Fix for an issue with the Riot Shield that would only occur when players obtained the pumpkin head after getting 3+ kills (pumpkin heads are back on!)
- Fix for an exploit in Zombie Royale
- Temporarily removing the Durable Gas Masks from Warzone
- Removing Snipers Only (TDM) while we fix a bug. We’ll be replacing this mode with Gunfight – Snipers Only (3v3)
JAK-12:
- Reduced movement and ADS speed on JAK-12 Drum Mags
- Reduced rate of fire on JAK-12 FRAG-12 ammo
- Updating the JAK-12 FRAG-12 ammo description to say ‘slugs’
Call of Duty: Warzone is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
