Yesterday, All In! Games released Ghostrunner, which is a cyberpunk action-adventure game that features fast-paced gameplay set in a futuristic world. The game also features 17 missions in Ghostrunner’s main campaign, and each the length of these quests could vary from a few minutes to half an hour, depending on the approach that players use while fulfilling them.
Of course, given the long list of missions that players can embark on in Ghostrunner, some may think this is a long game. However, on average, players could take around 8-11 hours to complete Ghostrunner‘s main campaign, which is definitely short by today’s standards. To the uninitiated, Ghostrunner puts players in the role of a sword-wielding assassin, who is on a mission to kill The Keymaster, who is a villain that has taken over the world.
It’s worth noting though that the aforementioned average time only accounts for a single playthrough on each mission, especially since Ghostrunner features a Level Select option that allows players to replay any completed mission for quicker times or fewer deaths. Given this, Ghostrunner could run longer than that, especially for completionists interested in exploring every nook and cranny that the game offers.
Meanwhile, players who are holding off on purchasing Ghostrunner right now in anticipation of its next-gen versions should know that All In! Games will offer upgrades for PS5 and Xbox Series X. Moreover, these next-gen updates will be available at no cost, which is perfect for those who want to try out the game now, but wouldn’t want to pay for it again once the next-gen versions release next year.
Now, players who are wondering what happened to the Switch version of the game should know that All In! Games revealed yesterday that the Switch version of Ghostrunner has been delayed to November. Unfortunately, the studio did not specify when exactly in November the game will release to Nintendo’s hybrid console. In a statement, All! In Games reassured fans that the reason for the delay is “to provide players with the best experience possible.” In the end, while this news may be disappointing to some, it’s worth noting that the worst-case scenario here is that Ghostrunner on the Switch will be postponed for a month at the most unless of course, the studio decides to delay it again.
Ghostrunner is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with the Switch version releasing in November and next-gen editions in 2021.
