Xbox is Giving Away an Xbox Series X Fridge | Game Rant

As the launch dates for next-gen consoles grow closer and closer, Xbox players have grown more excited for the release of the upcoming Xbox Series X. Players have been eagerly anticipating every drop of news that has been releasing recently as outlets and content creators have released videos of early impressions and unboxings. Now it seems that Xbox wants to escalate this fervor by giving away an Xbox product that fans seem to have been clamoring for since the console was first revealed.

Xbox announced today that it is running a giveaway for a fridge that is designed to look like an Xbox Series X. The appliance seems inspired by the many memes that players have made since the Series X’s design was first revealed where players created photoshops of the console in a kitchen. The video announcing the fridge is even accompanied by the tagline, “Power Your Dreams. Power Your Memes.”

To enter this giveaway, players will need to follow the official Xbox Twitter account and retweet the giveaway tweet with the hashtag #XSXFridgeSweeps. According to the announcement, entries will only be taken until November 4, so players looking to enter this contest will want to act quickly.

While this sweepstakes is extremely exciting for Xbox fans, it remains unclear as to whether or not the fridge will ever be available for purchase or if its a limited run item. According to the contest rules, Xbox will only be giving away one of these fridges at this time. Combine this information with the fact that select influencers and celebrities like Snoop Dogg recently received one as gift, and it becomes more likely that the Xbox Series X fridge won’t see store shelves.

Something else within the sweepstakes rules that players might find interesting is the approximate value of the Xbox Series X fridge. The Xbox Series X fridge has an approximate value of $499; the same price as the actual Xbox Series X. So if the appliance never makes it into stores, players can always take the $500 they saved and invest in the real thing (provided they can get their hands on one).

There is one downside to the Xbox Series X fridge, however. While the refrigerator seems to be a perfect recreation of the console, it doesn’t feature a screen on the door. This wouldn’t normally be a concern for most people, however, some players have begun finding ways of utilizing xCloud to play games like Doom Eternal on their fridge. So while the Series X fridge seems like a wonderful ode to Xbox fans, it’s not the all-encompassing Xbox experience of owning an actual Series X.

Xbox Series X will release on November 10, 2020.
