New Destiny 2: Beyond Light Power Level Caps Revealed | Game Rant

The release of the next Destiny 2 expansion, Beyond Light, is so close, Guardians can practically taste the Darkness. Bungie is bringing loads of new content to the game, which means players will need to become stronger to take on new challenges. For those wondering just how strong, new Power level caps will be part of the expansion and the developer recently released the numbers.

With all major content comes new thresholds and the Power level cap is one of the most important Destiny 2. In “This Week At Bungie,” a regular post on the game’s official blog, the developer laid out its plans for the next expansion, including progression changes. The current cap is 1060, but players will be able to raise it as soon as they jump into the new campaign and story missions. By the time they complete that content, they should be teetering around or at the soft cap of 1200. Then, they can work their way all the way up to 1260.

Once the next season kicks off on November 10, players can achieve the following Power caps:

  • Soft Cap: 1200
  • Hard Cap: 1250
  • Pinnacle Cap: 1260

Additionally, Bungie released a new Beyond Light launch trailer that highlights much of the content players will experience. Some of the mysteries of the infamous pyramid ships will be revealed, enemies from the past will return, as well as a few old friends. In the trailer, audiences also get a look at Europa, the moon orbiting Jupiter that is the main setting for the upcoming expansion. It’s a cold, unforgiving place, so Guardians will need to quickly adapt to the frigid conditions. They are doing so by adopting the three new Stasis subclasses that add abilities that freeze and slow enemies.

A new expansion brings new armor and weapons, which means new transmog combinations. As it is now, it’s a bit of a chore to get the perfect look each Guardian would like. But soon, according to game director Luke Smith, transmog will be Collections-based. This means players won’t need to hoard their favorite pieces any longer. They can be moved to Collections and used whenever a player likes. This should free up space in those overcrowded vaults.

While armor and weapons may be leaving one vault, certain Destiny 2 content will be added to another. A number of activities and locations will be vaulted once the new expansion arrives, but there will also be plenty of content returning. One piece of content making a comeback is the strike called The Will of Crota. However, it won’t be exactly as players remember. There is at least one big change to The Will of Crota — specifically, it’s named. The strike will instead be called The Disgraced, which has players curious about what other changes Bungie has planned for the strike.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
