Call of Duty Leaker Believes CoD 2021 Will Be Another Modern Warfare

With the Call of Duty community looking forward to the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, not many are thinking about what may be coming next. While there is an active assumption that Call of Duty will continue its yearly release pattern, normally leaks do not appear until after the newest game has released.

Still, a well-known Call of Duty leaker has started the conversation with a small hint at what may be coming next. Although Call of Duty 2021 is over a year away, there is a high chance that Activision has already started production. With the games getting larger and more complicated every year, fans will have high expectations come this time in 2021.

Popular Call of Duty leaker Tom Henderson Tweeted out a small note in reference to Call of Duty 2021. After disclosing accurate leaks about Call of Duty: Cold War, Modern Warfare, and many other titles he has gained a reputation for being a trusted source.

Based on his Tweet, it seems that Call of Duty 2021 will end up being a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare title. His guess is that the game will be in a modern-day setting and maybe follow in the footsteps of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. This would be the logical next step, but that does not mean Activision has the same thought in mind.

This early on, everything is speculation when it comes to Call of Duty 2021’s content. There is no telling where or what Activision will do next, and there is no guarantee that Infinity Ward is involved. Activision has several studios available to work on the Call of Duty franchise, and new blood may be needed to reinvent the series for the next console generation.

Still, Tom Henderson can not be easily dismissed. His track record with leaks is well known among the Call of Duty community, so Modern Warfare may very well be the next title in the series. This would not be a bad move on Activision’s part due to the game’s popularity alone.

If this is true, then Infinity Ward and Raven Studios would be the natural pick for the next game’s development team. There is still a lot that could be explored in the Modern Warfare universe, and Activision has already shown an aptitude at rebooting old storylines. Players will have to wait and see what comes next after the full release of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War on November 13th.
