Ghost of Tsushima Update 1.14 Prepares Game for Raid | Game Rant

Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, the new multiplayer mode for Sucker Punch’s widely acclaimed samurai epic, has largely been a success for the coveted PlayStation-owned studio. Taking players to a mythical realm of demons, monsters, and Japanese spirits, Legends allows Ghost of Tsushima players to select one of four classes and team up, combining the base game’s exceptional combat with cooperative gameplay.

Those who’ve gotten stuck into the title over the last few weeks have been waiting for one thing, however, with Sucker Punch promising that Legends would incorporate Raids in the new future. The first of these substantial multiplayer experiences is slated to arrive today, with Ghost of Tsushima players finally getting to tackle The Tale of Iyo.

A new patch from Sucker Punch has just launched to prep players for the upcoming online event, with Update 1.14 said to resolve a few bugs and ensure everything’s set for the upcoming Raid. According to Sucker Punch, players won’t be able to play The Tale of Iyo without upgrading to version 1.14. Once players have downloaded it, they’ll be able to tune into the latest slice of Ghost of Tsushima: Legends content when it drops at 3 PM Pacific Time.

For those out of the loop on The Tale of Iyo raid, it’ll act as the culmination of the current story being weaved through Legends, as players finally descend on Iyo’s realm. It’ll be an end-game piece of content, so players will have to approach the Raid heavily armed and ready for a fight. The Tale of Iyo will take place over three distinct chapters, with Sucker Punch recommending that players complete all the story missions and try to grind out some high-level gear before they look to take on the punishing missions.

Interestingly, it will also function slightly different from other aspects of Legends, as there is no matchmaking involved in The Tale of Iyo. Instead, players will need to cobble together their own team of Ghost of Tsushima players, picking a strong four-man squad that will be able to go toe-to-toe with the more powerful enemies lurking in Iyo’s realm. It seems it’ll be an intentionally brutal new chapter for Legends, which will truly test the abilities of the multiplayer mode’s frequent players.

Ghost of Tsushima has without question been one of the year’s biggest releases, with Sucker Punch finishing off the PlayStation 4’s lineup of exclusives with a bang. The game has done extraordinarily well in sales, with several job listing already citing that a follow-up to Ghost of Tsushima could be in the early stages of development.

Ghost of Tsushima: Legends is out now on PlayStation 4.
