Apex Legends players don’t have much longer to enjoy Season 6, as Season 7 will be starting in less than a week’s time on November 4th. There’s not an exact time yet for when Season 7 will begin, but it will be coinciding with the game’s release on Steam.
A new trailer was released only recently, which gave fans an official first look at the new playable Legend, Horizon, and how she plays, as well as a proper glimpse of the new Olympus map and a new vehicle called the Trident Hovercar. But while those may have been the primary focus, fans have been quick to notice that a few new skins, which will likely be available to unlock during Season 7, were shown off too.
The first, seen around the 1:09 mark, is one for the super speedy Octane. It’s only a quick glimpse, but it’s very different appearance compared to his other skins, as he’s not wearing a helmet and instead has a mask and visor that shows off his hair for a change.
Immediately, following him is a new skin for Wraith, one of the characters that’s been around since Apex Legends first released and is available as part of the base game. She’s wearing a form-fitting red, white, and black outfit, which looks a lot more futuristic compared to her original costume. It even changes her hairstyle a little bit, with her hair now curled at the very front.
Horizon, unsurprisingly, has one of her own alternate skins shown off too, starting at the 2:12 mark. It’s not too different from the original skin and appears to be a simple white, cyan, and yellow recolor, making it likely one of her common or rare skins. Respawn probably doesn’t want to give away any of her potential legendary skins away yet and let it be a surprise for when the season actually starts.
At around the 1:15 mark, we can also see what looks to be a new skin for the R-99 weapon, which has sickly green lighting almost oozing out of its sides.
While Season 7 looks to the perfect time for Steam users to jump in, Nintendo Switch owners unfortunately need to wait a bit longer, as Respawn previously confirmed that the Switch port has had to be delayed until 2021.
On the plus side, Respawn is drawing even more inspiration from its Titanfall series for Apex Legends, with Season 7’s new map even being a concept for Titanfall 3, a game which Respawn insists isn’t in development.
That isn’t stopping some from believing Titanfall 3 is happening. Last month, a couple of Apex Legends leakers claimed as such, though their tweets have since been deleted.
Apex Legends is available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, with a Switch version also in development.
