At the Xbox Games Showcase livestream event last July, Microsoft announced that players in the Xbox will finally be able to play Tetris Effect soon. More than that, Xbox players will receive the updated version of the game called Tetris Effect: Connected, which is set to feature upgraded visuals and a multiplayer mode. Now, Microsoft just released a gameplay video of Tetris Effect: Connected, highlighting some of the multiplayer features that players can expect in the upcoming game.
In the latest footage, Microsoft revealed that Tetris Effect: Connected will feature several multiplayer modes such as Zone Battle which enhances the traditional 1-on-1 Tetris gameplay with a time-stopping Zone mechanic. Moreover, another mode called Connected will allow up to three players to connect their Tetris playing fields together and play as one.
Moreover, Tetris Effect: Connected will also be available on Xbox Game Pass from day one, which means that players with an active subscription to the service will have immediate access to the game. On the flip side, those who are not subscribed to Xbox Game Pass can purchase the game separately for $39.99, and pre-orders are already available at the Microsoft Store.
Meanwhile, in a recent interview with Xbox Wire, Tetris Effect: Connected developers Tomohiro Tatejima and Yasuyuki Togo revealed that the updated version of the popular puzzle game will be optimized for the Xbox Series X. Uchida even went as far to say that once players experience Tetris Effect: Connected on the Series X, they won’t want to play it on anything else apart from the next-generation Xbox console.
Tetris Effect: Connected will release on November 10, 2020, for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
