Several days ago, Ubisoft released Watch Dogs Legion, and as players explore the fictional version of London, they will come across several masks that are important items in the game. Basically, masks allow DeadSec operatives to maintain a level of anonymity as they complete tasks and accomplish missions. Additionally, masks are also a great way for players to express the personalities of various characters, especially since there are tons to collect all over the game’s world.
Upon starting Watch Dogs Legion, players will start with only a handful of masks, but they can collect up to 40 of them by exploring the city. Luckily, masks are marked on the map, making it easier for players to spot them, and they will appear as a small gray icon that resembles a gas mask. It’s worth noting that masks won’t appear on the player’s main map, and they will only show up on the minimap once the player gets close to one. Overall, there are 40 masks in Watch Dogs Legion, and below are the areas where they are located.

Players should note that there is a secret mask located in the City of London borough. However, finding this mask is a little bit more challenging, given that players must meet several conditions to unlock its location. First, players must wait until 2 AM in the game and fast travel to Cannon Street to reach a building directly south of the travel point.
Watch Dogs Legion players will know that they’ve reached the correct building upon spotting an orange ladder that drops down to the river. After descending the ladder, players must head right where they will come across a mossy door that is locked with a padlock. The mask can be found inside this entrance, but it is worth noting that it will only open at 2 AM, so players may have to wait a little longer before obtaining the mask. As soon as the clock strikes 2 AM, players will be able to open the door, and the mask is located under a table on a stage.
To the uninitiated, the mask of Defalt belongs to the main antagonist that Aiden Pearce encountered in the first Watch Dogs game. However, fans would be happy to know that the Mask of Defalt is not just a collectible item, given that players will be able to equip it on any of their operatives, making it a must-have item for longtime fans of the franchise.
Watch Dogs Legion is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, and later on PS5 and Xbox Series X.
