In September, 2K Games released WWE 2K Battlegrounds as a replacement for WWE 2K21, which was canceled in April. Now, the game has released a new patch on PS4 that is set to address some reported gameplay concerns, and add support for the upcoming roster of fighters. Additionally, 2K Games confirmed that the latest patch will be rolled out to other platforms over the weekend.
Before the game’s launch, 2K revealed that WWE 2K Battlegrounds would feature 70 wrestlers at launch, with more coming in the future. Although the latest update still does not include new fighters, 2K revealed that more details about the first wave of new characters will be unveiled next week.
Given this, it appears the latest patch for WWE 2K Battlegrounds is coming in preparation for the eventual release of more fighters. Moreover, the latest patch adds several unique animations for eight different wrestlers, alongside some general quality of life enhancements that include removing bugs, fixing possible crashes, and performance improvements on the King of the Battleground game mode.
For those who still haven’t picked up the game but are interested, 2K Games revealed all the available and future wrestlers in WWE 2K battlegrounds before release last September. Some popular names include AJ Styles, Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar, “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt, WWE Champion Drew McIntyre, Becky Lynch, Finn Balor, and Ronda Rousey. Moreover, players can also expect to see iconic wrestling superstars in the game such as John Cena, Hulk Hogan, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, and The Undertaker.
