No More Heroes 2: How to Fight Kimmy | Game Rant

As announced during the October 28 Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase, No More Heroes and No More Heroes 2 have been ported from the Wii over to the Nintendo Switch, and are available for gamers to play today. Fans are able to re-immerse themselves in the lore of the game to prepare for the launch of the third entry coming out sometime next year.

One of the staples of the series is its quirky cast of characters that Travis Touchdown encounters. One character in particular, Kimmy Howell, is an optional secret boss fight in No More Heroes 2 that players can choose if they want to fight, even though it will not impact the story. To help players prove why Travis the Great lives up to his name, here are some tips on how to face Kimmy in the game.

To be able to unlock the secret boss fight, players first have to return to the hotel in Santa Destroy. They should receive a fax message from Sylvia including their latest instructions, and once the player get this, they need to save their progress. The instructions should bring Travis the Great back to the school at sunset. By cutting northwest, defeating all the enemies, and activating the access point, they should find Kimmy Howell under a tree.

After a characteristically long video game cutscene, Kimmy will profess her love for Travis and then immediately wishes to challenge him. Kimmy will unsheathe her dual-bladed beam katana and attack the player to prove her worth. Kimmy attacks quickly, so a good strategy is to approach her with two quick slashes and immediately dodge away from any counterattacks.

Keep using this hit and run technique to hit Kimmy after she is finished with her combos. Kimmy will also attack Travis with bubbles and her charged special attack, and both should be avoided at all costs by running past Kimmy and waiting for the opening – as with many enemies in No More Heroes.

Keep dodging and hitting Kimmy after her attacks are over, and eventually she will collapse. Travis does decide not to kill her, since she is ranked below him, and lets her live another day. Hopefully, this helps players have fun reminding the world why Travis is the best assassin out there. No More Heroes 2 is still worth playing in 2020, a decade after it came out, and the Nintendo Switch port should only help build that much more hype for the third game.

No More Heroes 2 is available now on Nintendo Switch.
