Watch Every Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Trailer Released So Far

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is only a few days away from launch and players are gearing up for its release. The franchise is known for its time period jumping and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is no different, taking place among vikings. Players will control Eivor, who can be either male or female. This is a bit different from its predecessor Odyssey, where players choose between two different characters: Alexios or Kassandra.

With all the excitement about the upcoming game’s release, sometimes it’s hard to keep track of which trailers came out first or which garnered the most hype. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has received quite a few different trailers, with each one previewing a different aspect of its gameplay or storyline. Some trailers took players behind the scenes a bit as well.

Released 6 months ago, this trailer sent Assassin’s Creed fans and players into a tizzy. It introduced the setting and main protagonist, and hinted at what the plot of the game would be with hints at how Eivor will fall into the Assassin and Templar conflict. It showed the duality of the vikings as well, where they were both ruthless on the battlefield, but also trying to find a home in England. This trailer set the scene for the game and future trailers to follow.

An identical trailer was later released featuring female Eivor, but all dialogue and scenes were the same, presumably because players are supposed to have an identical gameplay experience whether they choose male or female Eivor.

Where the first look gameplay trailer failed, this one thrived and went above and beyond. It fully showed many different aspects of Valhalla’s gameplay, from commanding Eivor’s army to pillaging villages to using stealth to succeed at certain parts of the game. It also showcased the new combat available in game, including how each hand can have a different weapon to create the ultimate deadly combination depending on each player’s style.

Released 2 months after the Cinematic World Premiere, this trailer gives players an in-depth look at the viking path Eivor will follow throughout the game. It’s narrated by someone who’s clearly got an otherworldly presence, as they mention how they can see Eivor’s fate and what’s coming throughout the course of the game. The trailer sets up a lot of questions for players about what will happen in Valhalla.

However, this trailer could have been a perfect opportunity to integrate both female and male iterations of Eivor. The dynamic shots could have fit both playable characters, and would have been the perfect opportunity to showcase both of Eivor’s designs. It doesn’t necessarily take away from the trailer, but it would have been interesting if both Eivors were properly showcased.

The story trailer gives even more information into who Eivor is, and hints at why they become as ruthless as they do. It shows players Eivor’s brother, Sigurd, who seems to be the leader of their group. He does not want to continue living in Norway for fear of war, yet starts a war with many different settlements across England. Despite the hypocrisy, the trailer takes care to introduce the many different enemies players will face throughout Valhalla and showcase Eivor as a leader of the Viking people.

This trailer was very similar to the Gameplay Overview released in July, but went more in depth about Eivor’s settlement and what players can do with the land. It introduced a variety of different places, including the Hidden Ones hideout and the Tattooist where players can customize their Eivor, which will include a tattoo of the Assassin’s Creed Sisterhood crest.

Throughout the trailers, it’s evident that the protagonist of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Eivor, will suffer a loss that may suddenly throw him into the role of leader of his people. However, everything is pure speculation until the game drops in a few days. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is available for preorder now and releases November 10 for PC, PlayStation 4, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S/X. It will also be available November 12 for PlayStation 5.
