While Microsoft clearly has big plans and expectations for the next Xbox console, that has not stopped the company from taking part in the many memes regarding the appearance of the Xbox Series X. The latest joke comes from the official Twitter account for Xbox, and it shows a man inside one of the new Xbox consoles.

While some gamers made amazing Metroid Halloween costumes, those looking for something funnier next time Halloween season rolls around have a perfect option in an outfit tweeted out by Xbox. The company seems very encouraging of the “Next Gen Game Box” costume seen in the image, though it is a bit unclear if the costume was made through photoshop or if it is a genuine design. Still, it is hard not to laugh when seeing the silly Halloween getup.

Captioned “Costumes are getting crazier every year it seems,” the post shows a man in a skintight black suit covered completed by a massive square box. With a knockoff Xbox logo in the corner, which is just a letter X, the massive cardboard cutout is sure to please any meme-loving fan of the Microsoft console. With the company already getting in on the fridge comparison joke by creating an actual Xbox Series X refrigerator, it seems like Microsoft is utilizing memes to help sell the upcoming console.

While memes have proven to be a good marketing strategy for many companies, Microsoft may want to keep its output of clever Series X jokes going at a steady rate. With controversial video game analyst Michael Pachter fully believing that the PS5 will outsell the Series X for years to come, and UK pre-order sales for the consoles backing up his statement, Microsoft will need to keep doing everything it can to get the word out on the upcoming system and all it has to offer.

Ignoring the console competition, though, this Xbox-themed Halloween costume is easily the funniest video game outfit shown off for the spooky holiday. With WWE superstar Zelina Vega dressing up as Mortal Kombat’s Kitana for Halloween, and rapper Big Sean donning an Among Us crewmate costume, video game outfits were all the rage for Halloween 2020. Regardless of whether it was due to all the events in popular games themed around the holiday or just because people spent so much time indoors this year, it was nice to see so many different gaming-inspired outfits.

For players eager to get their hands on a real Series X as opposed to a goofy costume, Best Buy will soon have Xbox fans covered. According to Best Buy, the Series X will be available on Black Friday for the many interested players who still need to secure themselves a console.

The Xbox Series X will be available on November 10.
