One of the more impressive-looking Xbox Series X games is Bright Memory: Infinite, which is currently scheduled to be released in 2021. But while fans wait for Bright Memory: Infinite‘s launch, they can check out the original game, Bright Memory, on the Xbox Series X’s launch day for a very low price. In fact, Bright Memory is quite possibly the cheapest Xbox Series X launch title there is.
It’s been confirmed that Bright Memory will cost $7.99, which is considerably cheaper than the typical next-gen game prices of $59.99 and in some cases, $69.99. Considering the hugely-impressive Bright Memory graphics, some fans may be wondering why the game is so cheap. While Bright Memory looks to be providing some truly cutting-edge graphics for Xbox Series X players at launch, it should be noted that the game is incredibly short, with players able to fully complete it in just a couple of hours time.
In this way, Bright Memory may be more or less considered a tech demo for the upcoming Bright Memory, as well as the Xbox Series X’s graphical prowess. It may not provide players with significant playtime, but it should prove to be a great way to showcase the Xbox Series X’s graphical capabilities and could be a fun way to kill a couple of hours.
As far as gameplay goes, Bright Memory looks fun enough. The game looks to combine the over-the-top action seen in games like Devil May Cry with more traditional first-person shooter gameplay. The game has been available on Steam for quite some time, and reception to the gameplay in that version of the game has been largely positive, so it looks like Xbox Series X owners could do a lot worse with their $7.99.
In regards to the story, Bright Memory sees players take on the role of Supernatural Science Research Organization agent Shelia, who has to fight off all kinds of monsters. She finds herself transported to the Floating Island, which is a floating continent near the north pole. Bright Memory‘s science-fiction plot sounds like it has some complicated world-building despite the game’s relatively short length, and so it will be interesting to see those ideas expanded on when Bright Memory: Infinite eventually launches in 2021.
Bright Memory will be joined by a slew of other Xbox Series X launch titles on November 10, though it’s one of the only games that will be an Xbox Series X console exclusive. The next major Xbox Series X console exclusive will be launching on December 10 in the form of Bloober Team’s The Medium, which will be available to play through the Xbox Game Pass program.
Bright Memory is out now on PC and will launch for Xbox Series X on November 10.
