Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is Free With RTX 3080 and 3090

The anticipated Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is only about a week away from release, as it will be launching alongside both the PS5 and Xbox Series X. Now, a new announcement reveals that the latest entry into the FPS military-shooter franchise will come free with a new RTX 3080 and 3090.

Nvidia announced that customers who purchase a new GeForce RTX 3080 or 3090 graphics card, or a gaming PC will get a free copy of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. This is part of Nvidia’s GeForce RTX Call of Duty Bundle, a limited-time offer that will last from now to December 10 at participating physical and online retailers. The copy of the game is redeemable online and will be available to play via Battle.net once the game launches November 13.

The GeForce Call of Duty bundle includes the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Standard Edition along with the Woods Operator Pack and Confrontation Weapons Pack. On PC, Black Ops Cold War features 4K resolution, uncapped frame rate, photo-realistic shadows, as well as ultrawide and multi-monitor support. Manny of these selling points should be enhanced by the RTX series graphics cards, with Nvidia DLSS and Reflex technology maximizing the game’s visual quality and lowering latency.

Nvidia’s new gaming desktops should come in handy with Black Ops Cold War’s large file size of 250GB, as the RTX 3080 only comes with 10GB and the RTX 3090 with 24GB of GDDR6X memory. Nvidia has partnered with several platforms and stores that will be selling customers the respective products. According to Nvidia’s website, the list of stores selling graphics cards include Best Buy, Canada Computers, Memory Express, Micro Center, and New Egg.

However, only one store is listed to sell the gaming desktops: Computer Upgrade King (CUK) USA, which requires the GPU to be purchased as an upgrade option to qualify for the promotion offer. Whether or not this has something to do with the Nvidia RTX shortages for the RTX 3080 and 3090 remains to be seen. Reportedly, the shortages will last until 2021, and the already high demand for the RTX series GPUs may impact the new promotional bundle’s sales before then.

The release of Black Ops Cold War’s PC specs shows that the new game will require a large amount of memory and powerful gaming desktop to handle it all. The GeForce RTX Call of Duty bundle from Nvidia presents players another option to experience the game at its highest level.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War launches November 13 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
