Halo 4 Reveals Impressive New PC Screenshots | Game Rant

With the release of Halo 4 on The Master Chief Collection coming soon, 343 Industries released some outstanding PC screenshots of the game’s campaign on October 30. While the images were scaled down for publishing purposes, 343 Industries said the game is “beautiful” when it runs in 4K and 60FPS.

Halo 4 is the sixth and final game to be brought to Halo: The Master Chief Collection, which has been developed by 343 Industries and was published by Xbox Game Studios. The collection currently consists of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, and Halo: Reach, which were released on previous Xbox platforms.

The official release of Halo 4 on the Halo: Master Chief Collection will bring new graphics settings. According to Max Szlagor, design director at 343 Industries, these changes will provide players with new options for graphics quality, shadow quality, effects quality, details quality, and anisotropic filtering. This Master Chief Collection update will also add the ability to adjust UI gamma and detail independently of game gamma and detail.

This update also introduces crossplay and input-based matchmaking. Crossplay will enable players from PC and Xbox to play with and against each other, while input-based matchmaking with ensure that controller players will only be matched against controller players, and mouse-and-keyboard players will only be matched with other mouse-and-keyboard players. Crossplay will be available across all Firefight, Forge, and multiplayer modes, however, the Halo 4 campaign and Spartan Ops do not currently support it.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection will also receive an update on November 17 that will bring new functionality and experiences to players using the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. This update will make Halo: The Master Chief Collection fully optimized on the new consoles and will add 120 FPS to both campaign and multiplayer. It will also bring improvements to splitscreen gameplay, and allow up to 4K on the Xbox Series X. The update will be available for free to existing game owners, and those with Xbox Game Pass.

The flight is available now for testing purposes, and has been rolled out in waves for members of the Halo Insider Program. According to Publishing Team Associate Producer Chris Case, over 500,000 invites to join the beta have been rolled out so far, making this the biggest flight to date in terms of  invites sent. The beta is slated to be live until November 6, and if there are no major issues Halo 4 is expected to release in full soon on both PC and Xbox.

Halo 4 is coming soon to Halo: The Master Chief Collection on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S.
