Immortals Fenyx Rising Switch File Size Revealed | Game Rant

Immortals Fenyx Rising, due out next month, has appeared on the Nintendo eShop for pre-order, along with the download size of the game.

Initially called Gods and MonstersImmortals Fenyx Rising is Ubisoft’s latest foray into the world of Ancient Greece, following its 2018 title, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, which saw the long-running series dip into Greek mythology for the first time. While sharing some similarities with Assassin’s Creed Odyssey (they are both open world games in similar historical settings from Ubisoft), Immortals Fenyx Rising has drawn comparisons with another Nintendo Switch gameThe Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

The two games share similar gameplay mechanics, with an emphasis on exploration and the ability to climb pretty much anything, and both games are aesthetically similar. The two titles now have one more thing in common – they take up similar amounts of storage on your system. Immortals Fenyx Rising will take up 13.2 GB of space up on the Nintendo Switch, which is slightly less than Breath of the Wild‘s 14.4 GB. Considering that the Nintendo Switch isn’t blessed with a huge amount of internal storage, those players who don’t have a massive microSDHC or microSDXC card will be pleased to know that the Immortals Fenyx Rising can fit within the 32GB of internal storage available.

In truth, being compared to one of the games of the generation shouldn’t be a negative for an upcoming game, and Breath of the Wild is certainly in that category. Instead of drawing inspiration from its own games, Ubisoft appear to have created a colorful and beautiful open world unlike anything gamers have seen from the studio, all within a new IP that was only announced at E3 last year.

Whether it’s the imminent release of the next-gen consoles from Sony and Microsoft, or upcoming AAA titles like Cyberpunk 2077 or another Ubisoft franchise like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, it seems that Immortals Fenyx Rising had slipped under the radar until being featured again in the latest Direct Mini from Nintendo last week. Which is surprising, considering how great Immortals Fenyx Rising has consistently looked and how much of a departure it is from what gamers have come to expect from Ubisoft games. Which begs the question: could it be a surprise contender for game of the year?

Immortals Fenyx Rising releases on December 3 for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
