Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War‘s pre-load has begun, allowing fans an early install ahead of the game’s official launch. The pre-load is available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, though next-gen players will obviously have to wait to download the game. Players will have had to pre-order Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War for the pre-load to take effect.
Each platform comes with its own instructions as to how the pre-loading phase will work. Activision is slowly dispensing information regarding the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War pre-load phase, but there is still enough released to get fans started.
The Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War PlayStation 4 pre-load is planned to start on November 5th or November 6th depending on the player’s region. Any player on PlayStation 4 that pre-ordered a digital version of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will be able to start the preload. As of now, the PlayStation Store is listing November 6 at 12 AM ET as the official pre-load start time for North America.
Do keep in mind that players getting a PlayStation 5 on launch day will be able to immediately pre-load Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War onto the next generation console. The download should be started immediately before the full launch of the game on November 13th.
Activision has not released an official pre-load time for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Xbox fans. The game may follow a similar release schedule to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and if so players can expect the pre-load to begin on November 4th or 5th. Do keep in mind that the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War file size is currently listed at 100GB, but this may be subject to change as the release date gets closer.
Fans that are going to purchase the Xbox Series X or S will be able to preload the game as soon as the console arrives on November 10th.
Players who purchased an early copy of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War on Battle.net will have to wait a bit longer as well. Activision has not released a schedule as of yet, but based on last year’s launch, fans can expect pre-load around 3 or 4 days prior to the launch on November 13th. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is expected to be a 175GB download for PC fans, so make sure there is ample space available before starting the download process.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is set to release on November 13th.
