There are likely not a lot that fans who do not know about the upcoming Call of Duty: Warzone integration with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. While Activision has shared information on classes, weapon balancing, and even engine changes, fans are still learning more about updates with every passing day.
Well-known Call of Duty leaker Tom Henderson put out a new statement claiming that Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War weapons will be rebalanced to match Warzone’s current parameters. This does mean that Call of Duty: Cold War weapons will behave differently in Multiplayer modes versus the battle royale, but as a result the Call of Duty: Warzone community will expand their arsenal to over 100 different weapons. This number would only continue to grow as Call of Duty: Warzone expands into 2021, and future games create a unique position for the Warzone meta to adapt.
Call of Duty: Warzone will become a close-knit project between Infinity Ward, Treyarch, and Raven Software as the integration takes place. This process is uncharted territory for Activision, but the success of Call of Duty: Warzone warrants the additional care and content coming into this fan-loved battle royale.
Henderson has been right with several of his past predictions. Recently, he commented that the next Call of Duty title may be another Modern Warfare, which would make sense with the idea of Call of Duty: Warzone‘s 2021 integration. If Call of Duty: Warzone continues to follow the franchise, it will be interesting to compare it to its original build this time next year.
Each development team, game community, and overall player perception should have an influence on the title. As communities grow older, the game will have to grow as well, creating a more sustainable Call of Duty environment than ever seen before. Call of Duty: Warzone may have started as just another battle royale, but slowly it is becoming something else entirely.
