Fan-Made Dragon Ball Z PS5 Controller Up For Sale | Game Rant

In a little over a week, the PlayStation 5 will finally make its way to the homes of those lucky enough to snag one after the system’s pre-order debacle. With it comes a handful of accessories that includes the fancy new DualSense controller. If its stark white exterior seems too plain, maybe opt for a Dragon Ball Z-inspired version instead. One team of designers is offering this custom job and is taking orders now.

LaZa Modz has been in the business of customizing game controllers for years, starting with the Xbox 360, but now they’re moving into next-gen with a sleek new design. The Dragon Ball Z controller is a glossy orange and blue with black accents, mimicking the color palate of series protagonist Goku. All seven Dragon Balls can be found on the PS5 controller, found either in the buttons or on its sides. The touch pad sports the kanji symbol for the Turtle School found on Master Roshi’s students.

Fans, or just those who enjoy the design, can order their custom DBZ controller at the LaZa Modz site, but this custom job isn’t cheap. A standard DualSense runs for $69.99, but the price tag on the custom controller is $179.99. LaZa Modz puts a significant amount of work into the product, having to take it apart then reassemble it, in addition to all the painting. However, considering what people have already had to shell out for the console itself, they may not want to spend any more on an accessory. Besides, the removable plate on the DualSense controller opens up much cheaper customization options.

Another company offered a way to customize the PlayStation 5 console itself through faceplates it created for the console. The company’s website sold unofficial PS5 shells with several different colors and patterns for a reasonable price. However, Sony’s lawyers got involved and very quickly shut the operation down, ordering the company to halt production of the PS5 faceplates and refund orders. The company will instead work on developing legal console skins and accessories.

The official PlayStation store recently set up a page for Resident Evil 8, posting trailers and a game overview. Most importantly, it also lays out key PS5 features for Resident Evil Village (its official name). Given that this is the series’ first foray into next-gen, players will want to experience it in a way they haven’t before. Aside from the visual differences, provided by running at 4K with ray tracing, it will also have fast loading time, with Sony claiming there are none at all. Players will be able to feel the weight and pull of weapons through adaptive triggers and haptic feedback in the controller. Being that it is a horror game, the 3D audio support will immerse players into the terrifying world they’ll explore.
