Call of Duty Mobile continues to grow by adding classic, and some entirely original, CoD content, with the latest addition announced by the team being another multiplayer map. The next Call of Duty Mobile addition will be none other than Hackney Yard, a popular multiplayer map from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
This is hardly the first bit of content from the 2019 Modern Warfare reboot that has appeared in Call of Duty Mobile, as the gunfight game mode was added to the mobile FPS a few months back. Since then, the game has seen the addition of other gunfight maps like Pine, and most recently, the 2v2 map King was added to CoD Mobile. If it plays anything like the original Modern Warfare version, however, Hackney Yard is likely to be its own 6v6 map.
Hot off the heels of the Mythic Fennec’s release date teaser, the official Call of Duty Mobile Twitter account shared an image of the map within the mobile game. Confirmed for the game’s next season of content, the Call of Duty Mobile version of Hackney Yard will be looking a bit different from the one seen in Modern Warfare. Captioned “sun’s getting real low,” the comment is more than just a clever reference to the Avengers films, as it is also a major teaser for what the map will look like as well.
As shown within the image, Hackney Yard on CoD Mobile will see a heavy sunset instead of the midday setting of the original map. This visual change should make the map stand out a bit among CoD Mobile’s other map offerings, as it is certainly a bit darker than the usual Call of Duty map. The sunset in the image could possibly hint at a night version of the CoD Mobile map, though it could just as easily look like it does in the picture when it arrives.
When the map arrives, Call of Duty Mobile players should expect to see it in the rotation for 6v6 modes based on its previous appearance. Like with most additions from other Call of Duty games, the mobile version of the map is likely to keep its same design. With CoD Mobile having been downloaded 300 million times since its release, it seems likely that quite a few people will be experiencing the special sunset version of Hackney Yard.
Until the new season arrives, and Hackney Yard is officially playable within the game, fans can enjoy the Undead Fog event that is currently going on within the game. With in-game awards, zombies, and, unsurprisingly, fog, the event is full of special content to keep fans busy for the remainder of CoD Mobile’s anniversary season.
Call of Duty: Mobile is available now on Android and iOS devices.
