Secret challenges are one of the many ways to earn some additional XP in Fortnite, and indeed there is a brand new one available right now. This secret challenge, which was added in the recent Fortnite 14.50 Update, is called Grave Mistake, and players that want to complete it will need to pay their respects at a particular statue. For those fans that need help locating this sculpture, full details can be found in this guide.
To put things simply, the statue that players must visit for Fortnite‘s Grave Mistake challenge depicts a gnome and is located next to a tree just north of Slurpy Swamp. Fans that want to complete this challenge quickly should certainly feel free to land in the area directly at the start of their matches, and those that do should be claiming their rewards promptly. In order to make this process very easy, here is a map highlighting the exact location of the gnome statue.
After a player has arrived at this location, they should simply approach the gnome statue and enter the input that appears on the screen to pay their respects. Indeed, this is all that must be done in order to complete this secret challenge, making it a very easy way to earn 20,000 XP. While it is true that this may not be enough XP to catapult fans to the highest tiers of Fortnite‘s Season 4 Battle Pass, players that are still on the grind should not pass up this opportunity.
To note, the Grave Mistake secret challenge was not the only thing added in the 14.50 Update, as it also marked the debut of Fortnite‘s Stark Industries Jetpack. This device gives players the ability to temporarily take flight, and it can be useful for making a quick escape or simply scaling a building. That said, the Stark Industries Jetpack is slightly stymied by its charge capacity, and fans that are not careful may find themselves taking damage after falling a great distance.
The new update also made some notable changes to Fortnite‘s map, including the removal of the decorations that appeared for the Fortnitemares event. What is perhaps more interesting, though, is that Galactus has changed his position and can now be seen above the Ruins point of interest. Very likely this movement is setting the stage for Season 4’s final event, and it would not be surprising to see the supervillain descend upon the map quite soon.
Fortnite is out now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions also in development.
