Here’s What the PS5 DualSense Controller Looks Like Under a Microscope

Now that Sony has released PlayStation 5 accessories ahead of the actual console, some fans used that as an opportunity to purchase the PS5 DualSense Controller and give their reactions, analysis, and impressions regarding the product. As such, one little thing that everyone is talking about deals with a small detail on the controller itself, which can be seen as a nice touch to the entire authenticity aspect.

The PS5 controller has tiny PlayStation symbols on the rear pads, specifically the iconic circle, triangle, square, and X symbols, recently shown in detail in a video posted on the PlayStation 5 Reddit page by user Thenadamgoes. If it wasn’t for the specialized microscope used to point out the tiny symbols on the controller, they would be nearly unnoticeable to the naked eye. Nonetheless, such a small, yet extremely detailed feature makes the PS5 controller a bit more unique and different from its predecessors.

Judging by the reactions and replies to the discovery, some Reddit users managed to bring up interesting points that weren’t made before. For instance, one user wrote that the symbols could potentially provide a better grip than the PS4 controller, thus allowing users to have a better experience holding the controller and using it during PS5 gameplay and various game sequences.

Another user also pointed out how the symbols on the PS5 controller were done in order to help differentiate legitimate Sony-made controllers versus fake ones, knock offs, or maybe even third-party controllers. In other words, it will take more time for someone to make a knock off PS5 controller due to figuring out a way and the resources needed to incorporate the PlayStation symbols on it. On the other hand, to someone who may not be aware of the symbols, the difference will be pretty much non-existent.

The PS5 controller’s potential abilities follow a batch of previous discoveries that were made not too long ago, especially since the controller came out over the weekend. For example, earlier, it was discovered that the PS5 controller can pair up with a PS3. Additionally, Sony previously confirmed that the haptic feedback of the PS5 controller can be customized in order to cater to people with disabilities by allowing them to reduce or even turn off the feedback for a number of games.

All in all, with the PS5 right around the corner, it will be interesting to see what other little details fans will be able to emphasize. Whether the details will deal with the console itself, the games, or any of the accessories, the PS5 is sure to impress its fans and the overall gaming community one way or another.

The PlayStation 5 is set to launch on November 12, 2020.
