Bungie’s newest revamping of Destiny 2 is almost here, with the upcoming Beyond Light expansion launching on November 10th to offer one of most substantial changes to the series since Taken King. However, as the next set of DLC still has its secrets, one player thinks they may have found evidence of some of the armor coming to Beyond Light within some of Bungie’s previous promotional material.
Reddit user u/meapppp points out some details in a post on the Destiny subreddit the connections between some leaked images alongside officially released artwork and screenshots from Bungie. Most of the official images come from a number of recent This Week at Bungie blog posts, the weekly blog that the developer uses to keep players informed on what they can expect to come with future updates and expansions.
The details that meapppp points out specifically include a banner released in the 10/15/2020 This Week at Bungie post that shows off the silhouettes of multiple armor pieces with a backdrop of the raid logo. This was also the first look that players got at Beyond Light‘s upcoming raid, confirming that the recommended power level for the new activity will be 1230. Combining this image with one that leaked recently leaked through the Xbox Live Store, the Reddit user points out a number of similarities between the leaked armor and the silhouettes.
The strongest detail to support this player’s theory is the extra piece hanging off the back of the Titan’s helmet that appears in both the officially released silhouette and the leaked screenshots. Diving more specifically into the This Week at Bungie post, meapppp also focuses on how the six armors shown likely depict six new armors specific to Beyond Light‘s opening season. While the Reddit user does acknowledge that this could be the season pass gear, they also point out that the symbols on the armor are similar to the early raid symbols previously seen in emblems and other released images.
Considering the schedule of release on Beyond Light‘s raid, coming less than two weeks after the expansion launches, it won’t be long before players are able to confirm if this is an early look at raid armor. Regardless, the gear itself has a fairly well designed look to it, stepping above much of the standard armor that has already been shown to be coming with the next expansion. Granted, this is usually the case with raid gear, with the high level activity often giving the best looking armor and weapons.
Destiny 2: Beyond Light releases on November 10th for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
