Any player looking to recruit some new blood in Watch Dogs: Legion will need to pay attention to the traits. Perks are new to the series and alter the way that a player uses a character. These traits can be both good and bad. For instance, some make it so characters go on shopping sprees.
They spend the player’s hard-earned cash frivolously. Other perks allow the player to have a positive effect of faster downloads or shorter arrest times. Let’s go over what these perks are and which ones to watch out for or stay away from.
10 Best: Albion Vendetta
Albion is a massive force to go up against in the newest installment of the Watch Dogs series. The group is everywhere and, in most cases, will be the faction a player goes up against. The vendetta perk helps bring the fight back to Albion by making the character deal more damage to them. There is nothing more satisfying than being able to get revenge on Albion. Plus, as progress is made, Albion forces become stronger and the added damage really helps out.
9 Worst: Death Wish
It’s always terrible to have that one member of your team that wants nothing more than to die. That is what makes death wish such a bad trait. People with this trait are more prone to getting into dangerous situations when they are not being controlled by the player. This means that they have a higher chance of dying than other operatives or at the very least getting hurt. Despite some of them having great perks, it always hurts to have the death wish perk on a character.
8 Best: Uniformed Access
Uniforms aren’t a necessity but they are certainly helpful. Everything seems to go easier when you are actually allowed in the place you’re sneaking into. Places like hospitals, construction sites, and Albion buildings make up a good amount of buildings players will visit. Having multiple characters to change to with uniformed access will help with most situations. These characters typically come with other perks to go along with access like drone summons or medical expertise.
7 Worst: Doomed
Death Wish is an annoying perk that never works well. Doomed is even worse. Imagine playing the game when all of a sudden a message appears that a random character just died unexpectedly. That is what happens when a character has the doomed perk.
Any character who has this perk is guaranteed to die at some point. It is best to avoid characters with this perk because they will always let a player down. It’s a shame that some of them have great perks. Maybe if a player has enough recruits it’s okay to have an expendable one.
6 Best: Crypto Skimmer
Cash isn’t the hardest thing to come by in Watch Dogs, but any amount helps. The crypto skimmer perk makes it so the player has a chance to get currency whenever they hack something. It is a great perk for any situation and really helps gather cash quickly. There is another version of this perk worth mentioning that grants cash whenever a player performs a takedown. Both traits are great but the crypto skimmer trait ends up netting the player more cash.
5 Worst: Famous
Life isn’t always better for famous people. While yes, being famous sounds like it would be awesome. Getting noticed in public all the time and being a bigger voice for DedSec sound great. Unfortunately, being famous isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Being noticed in public tends to help Albion find a character more easily whenever they are being chased. This isn’t something to look forward to. This trait should often be avoided unless there are some other amazing perks to make up for the shortcoming.
4 Best: Rally Cry
What is better in a fight, one or three people? Obviously, three people are better than one. That’s what makes the rally cry trait great. Typically this trait can be found if a player does the Bare Knuckle Brawl fights across London. These fights are easy if a player is good at fighting and comes with the bonus of being able to recruit the losers. Among these losers might be one with the rally cry trait. This trait lets a player summon allies into a fight. No more fights of one against three.
3 Worst: Prior Injury
Okay, so this trait isn’t bad if permadeath is on. After all, injury doesn’t really exist at that point. Injuries are a terrible thing to endure. Another terrible thing to endure is longer arrest times. Both of these put characters out of commission for a while and force the player to choose another operative to take up the mantle.
A player is far better off without this trait if they are bad at fighting or get into situations where their characters will easily get hurt. Try to avoid longer arrest times as well.
2 Best: Light Step
The light step trait is great for players who want to take a more stealthy approach to the game. After all, stealth helps out in a ton of situations and is often better than running into a situation with guns blazing. The game may play similarly to Grand Theft Auto, but it requires a little more finesse. The light step trait helps out players by improving a character’s stealth and making it harder for them to be detected. When matched up with a takedown perk it is well worth it.
1 Worst: Hiccups/Flatulent
There is nothing worse than a nervous recruit. Taking back London can be a little nerve-wracking to some folks. It doesn’t help a player out though to have a nervous recruit who can’t help but hiccup or fart in a stressful situation. This trait makes it so characters have a chance to bring attention to themselves when sneaking around which is never good. This trait can ultimately lead to a gunfight if a player isn’t careful when sneaking through an Albion base. Take this one cautiously.
