Destiny 2: Xur Exotic Armor, Weapon, and Recommendations for November 6

After a two month delay which extended the current Destiny 2 timeline a bit longer than most fans expected, the anticipated Beyond Light expansion is now only days away. The experience represents a new era for the popular looter shooter franchise and it’s bringing plenty of changes with it. The biggest may be the Destiny Content Vault, which represents Bungie’s way to clean up and clear out legacy content. While content put into the vault could reappear down the road, it’s likely going to be a shock at first for players considering the huge list of content being removed on November 10.

While the sandbox experience is also getting updated, players who may have missed the chance to finish or unlock exotic and pinnacle gear will thankfully have another opportunity through a new kiosk being added to the Tower social hub. Players will be able to purchase certain exotics that were tied to vaulted content and depending on how difficult they were to originally unlock, the prices will vary. To help support this new mechanic, Xur is getting a small update to offer a weekly quest that leads players to an exotic cypher, which can be spent on these items.

For one final week, however, Xur has returned to the Destiny 2 game world with his typical and expected exotic content. Follow this guide for his location as well as a review of what he’s currently selling for the weekend of November 6, 2020.

This weekend, Xur can be found, for the final time, within the caves on Io.

Once loaded into Giant’s Scar, immediately head through the building into the area with the large drill in the center. Head left through the gate and follow the edges of the zone to the top left corner of the map where Xur is hiding in a cave.

Keep in mind that Xur is no longer selling collection rolled gear, a welcomed change of pace from the past few years. The armor he now has features randomized stats and perks, which should revitalize player interest in what the merchant has each week. In addition, players can use an Exotic Cypher to purchase a second fated engram from the merchant.

Here are Xur’s three gear pieces this weekend:

Promethium Spur – Warlock leg armor

A recent Destiny 2 addition inside the Season of Dawn, these are boots specifically designed for Daybreak users. These boots come with the Intrinsic perk called Embers of Light. While Daybreak is active, any enemies or Guardians defeated will create a Healing and Empowering Rift at their location.

While useful, these exotics just don’t compare to other Dawnblade exotics. It’s fun to play around with but to maximize Dawnblade builds, players will likely want to go with things like Pheonix Protocol or Sunbracers.

Arc Enhanced. Stat Values:

  • Mobility +14
  • Resilience +12
  • Recovery +7
  • Discipline +18
  • Intellect +9
  • Strength +2

Wormhusk Crown – Hunter helmet

This exotic Hunter gear used to be an easy go-to option, especially since it was handed out to players who finished the Warmind expansion campaign. Burning Souls gives a small health and shield boost to players after they dodge.

Unfortunately, the perk was deemed too powerful by Bungie, and the developer proceeded to nerf the item to modify its ability to essentially save a Hunter from death simply by dodging. While it’s no where near the power levels it was prior to the nerf, its still a solid option for Hunters inside the Crucible for the health boost. Plus, the roll this week makes this helmet even more viable for PvP activities with extremely high intelligence and mobility stats. Adding a recovery mod to it could make it even better.

Void Enhanced. Stat Values:

  • Mobility +16
  • Resilience +8
  • Recovery +8
  • Discipline +11
  • Intellect +16
  • Strength +2

Actium War Rig – Titan chest armor

For Titans who love to shoot without stopping to reload, the Actium War Rig is available from Xur this weekend. When paired with an auto rifle, the Actium War Rig turns the player into a shredder. Auto-Loading Link steadily reloads a portion of your equipped Auto Rifle’s magazine from reserves.

Thankfully, Destiny 2 has a ton of viable assault rifles these days including already popular options like the Gnawing Hunger or SUROS Regime even in the face of upcoming changes when Beyond Light arrives next week. Naturally, while fans of auto rifles would likely want to grab this exotic, the roll this week is actually pretty good as well. It’s worth a look this week.

Arc Enhanced. Stat Values:

  • Mobility +10
  • Resilience +8
  • Recovery +14
  • Discipline +9
  • Intellect +13
  • Strength +9

Last seen back in April, the underrated Fighting Lion grenade launcher is back in stock this weekend. Its intrinsic perk is called Delayed Gratification, allowing players to hold the trigger and then release it to detonate the grenade. The grenades can also bounce off surfaces, allowing for some very tricky shots. Its trait is Thin the Herd which makes direct hits do more damage to shields, while rapid kills to grenade damaged enemies refill the magazine. Finally, kills with this weapon always drop primary ammo.

The biggest thing this weapon has going for it is that it doesn’t take up a heavy slot like most Grenade launchers. Instead it sits in the energy slot, freeing up players to continue using a machine gun or other heavy grenade launcher as needed. This is also a weapon that likely won’t be for everyone as its delayed detonation requires a bit of skill to fully master. However, for those who can get the hang of it, the gun can be very rewarding and fun to use. It’s also great for certain quests like The Wendigo or the Mountaintop, though time is quickly running out to claim these pinnacle weapons through the quest itself.

Additional perks:

  • Countermass
  • Implosion Rounds
  • Short-Action Stock

Here’s the complete rundown of Xur’s entire stock in Destiny 2 for November 6, 2020:

  • Promethium Spur (Warlock leg armor) – 23 Legendary Shards
  • Wormhusk Crown (Hunter helmet) – 23 Legendary Shards
  • Actium War Rig (Titan chest armor) – 23 Legendary Shards
  • Fighting Lion (Grenade Launcher) – 29 Legendary Shards
  • Fated Engram – 97 Legendary Shards
  • Five of Swords Challenge Card

Destiny 2: Beyond Light releases on November 10th for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
