Genshin Impact Reputation System Explained | Game Rant

Some major changes are coming to Genshin Impact with the Version 1.1 update. Along with many other mechanics, MiHoYo is adding the brand-new City Reputation system to the game, but it will operate differently than other games’ versions of a reputation or karma mechanic. Here’s everything Genshin Impact players need to know about it before it rolls out on November 11th.

First, to unlock City Reputation quests and tasks, the player will need to reach Adventure Rank 25. For those who have been with Genshin Impact since the beginning, most of them will be well past this point. But players who are just starting out will have some grinding to do before they can unlock City Reputation.

Aside from AR25, players will also need to complete the Outlander Who Caught the Wind quest to unlock Reputation in Mondstadt. This is the first act of the Prologue, so most can check this off their lists. As for Liyue, travelers will need to complete Farewell, Archaic Lord, which is the last main story quest until 1.1 brings A New Star Approaches to finish off the Liyue storyline. Doing so requires AR29.

Each region in Genshin Impact will have its own City Reputation level with the 1.1 Genshin Impact update. Currently, this means Reputation will be split between Liyue and Mondstadt. To view the current Reputation status, talk to the Knights of Favonius coordinator Hertha for Mondstadt Reputation or the Ministry of Civil Affairs secretary Ms. Yu for Liyue.

Increasing current Reputation requires the player to complete various quests in each region which are split between World Exploration, Bounties, Requests, and city-specific quests. For Bounties and Requests, the player can complete up to 3 each week and are refreshed on Monday. Bounties are bounty targets in the region and Requests are requests from local residents in the respective city.

It looks like the maximum Reputation level that can currently be reached is capped at 8, but this will likely change with future content updates as MiHoYo adds more regions and gameplay to Genshin Impact.

Each Reputation level has its own unique set of rewards, and many of them look to be quality-of-life enhancements that will benefit Genshin Impact players’ experience. For example, after reaching Reputation Level 3 in Liyue, the player will obtain a crafting blueprint for Condensed Resin, which allows the player to store up to 3 Condensed Resin by consuming 40 Original Resin, 1 Crystal Core, and 100 Mora. This essentially allows the player to store more maximum Resin at any given time. However, players will still need to deplete their Original Resin by 120 to do so, leaving them with only 40 while the rest still slowly replenishes at 1 Resin per 8 minutes.

Among the many new prizes Genshin Impact players can unlock with the Reputation feature, the final prizes for reaching level 8 are Wing Glider skins. Mondstadt will reward the player with the Wings of Azure Wind while Liyue will award the player with Wings of Golden Flight.

Genshin Impact is available on mobile devices, PC, and PS4 with PS5 and Switch versions in development.
