Demon’s Souls Will Feature Japanese Voice Acting for PS5

The Demon’s Souls remake is almost here for players getting the PS5 at launch, and it looks stunning, to say the least. As one of the PS5’s premier launch titles, it will no doubt be a part of many players’ PS5 launch day plans.

Bluepoint’s remake of the beloved classic brings many new and updated features back to the game that started the Souls series over a decade ago in 2009. One of those new features involves the game’s voice cast, as Sony has confirmed Demon’s Souls will have Japanese voice acting.

A bunch of new information surrounding the Demon’s Souls remake dropped just shy of the game’s release. For those who may have missed it, Sony released a surprise State of Play presentation that focused solely on the Demon’s Souls remake. The State of Play went in detail about a ton of new features coming to the game. Shortly after, a post on the Japanese PlayStation blog confirmed that the game will have Japanese voice acting, which was notably missing from the original PS3 game.

The post confirmed some of the actors who would be involved with the game and the characters they are set to voice. The Maiden in Black is voiced by Saori Hayami, the Monument is voiced by Ryoko Shiraishi, and Maiden Astraea is voiced by Fumiko Orikasa. The PlayStation blog post goes into further detail about who will be voicing certain characters, listing 24 total actors who are lending their voices to the Demon’s Souls remake. Alongside other enhancements for the Demon’s Souls remake, Japanese players should be very pleased with the addition of a fully voiced experience.

Though, hopefully Japanese players looking forward to the Demon’s Souls remake have already got their PS5 order locked down. PS5 pre-orders are sold out in Japan completely, so those who neglected to pre-order their consoles may end up having to wait a while to jump into the game. The Demon’s Souls remake is one of the PS5’s exclusive titles, meaning players on PS4 won’t be able to play the game on their systems. Still, the recent State of Play showcases all the ways the game benefits from the PS5’s advanced hardware.

While fans who have played Demon’s Souls before might not have gotten a ton of new information out of the Demon’s Souls State of Play, fans who haven’t touched the game before did. Alongside in-depth looks at the game’s character creator, fans also saw more of the stunning environments the game has to offer. The State of Play, alongside the Japanese voice cast news, really goes to show how much more detail Bluepoint games is putting into the Demon’s Souls remake. Hopefully, fans are looking forward to quite the challenge on November 12.
