PS5 Trophy lists Are Appearing Online | Game Rant

With the PlayStation 5 releasing in a few days, the console will come with a variety of exclusive titles like Demon’s Souls, Godfall, and Spider-Man: Miles Morales. However, trophy lists for some of those games have started to appear online, hinting to players what the games are going to be about and what can be expected based on the trophies’ descriptions and names.

Websites like PowerPyx, which are usually used for their guides and trophy help, have posted full trophy lists for some upcoming PlayStation 5 games. As such, players may want to practice extra caution when looking through such websites in order to not spoil a mentioned game for themselves, or end up finding out some sort of secret about a game through a trophy. Nonetheless, considering that the majority of the games will be PS5 launch titles, players don’t have to wait too long to experience the games and unlock the trophies in the process.

Despite the websites mentioning all unlockable PS5 trophies, not all of the games will have a hefty story focus or heavy spoilers to them. For instance, despite some changes to Demon’s Souls, those who have played the original game will already be familiar with what the game expects from them trophy-wise, which is usually defeating a certain boss or acquiring a certain item. For games like Godfall and Spider-Man: Miles Morales, the fun will be experiencing the games as brand new and unlocking trophies without knowing much about the requirements.

Talking about PS5 trophies in general, one important thing to note is that this time around, trophies will work differently from the PS4. To be more specific, when a player earns a trophy on the PS5, a short clip will be created leading up to the moment the trophy was earned. As such, that can be seen as an upgrade to the trophy system because on the PS4, the console would only capture a screenshot instead of a short clip. Ultimately, that is meant to make trophy hunting more memorable and satisfactory on the PS5.

Although it may be very early to talk about future PlayStation consoles, it will be interesting to see how Sony decides to handle trophies in the far future. As tech and games will become more advanced, so will the entire trophy system, meaning that it may end up being something more than a “system” for players to interact with and achieve by playing games.

The PlayStation 5 is set to launch on November 12, 2020.
