Dragon Ball Z Kakarot Golden Frieza DLC Release Date Finally Revealed

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot DLC 2 finally has an official release date, and fans will get to dive in starting November 17th. Though fans were pretty upset with Bandai Namco for the lack of communication and information, the excitement still seems to be high coming off this announcement.

For those that haven’t kept up with the drama surrounding Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot‘s DLC, Bandai Namco has remained eerily silent for months about its status. Though this frustrated many fans initially, now that the release date has finally been revealed things seem to be looking up as fans are excited to take on Golden Frieza and his army.

Aside from introducing Golden Frieza, the new DLC will also allow players to gain access to the Super Saiyan Blue form for Goku and Vegeta. Most likely, Super Saiyan Blue will provide these characters a 250% boost to all stats when maxed out, making the two Saiyans the ultimate fighters in the game’s roster.

While Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot has broken its DLC patterns in the past, in this case it actually followed one of them. The DLC is being released exactly one week after the release date was announced, the same exact timing as what happened with the first DLC. Unfortunately, this still doesn’t give fans much to go off of when predicting DLC 3’s release date, but if the same pace is kept, it will likely be sometime in Summer of 2021. This is just speculation, so until an official announcement is made, fans will have to wait and see.

Thankfully, in the meantime players can enjoy all the offerings of Kakarot‘s DLC 2. The gameplay screenshots above show that both Vegeta and Golden Frieza are at level 170, indicating that there are likely multiple different versions of the Golden Frieza fight just as there were with Beerus. Whether or not there will be a level cap increase remains to be seen, but Golden Frieza should be able to be challenged at whatever the level cap is in addition to this level 170 fight since many players are already at level 250.

All in all, fan reaction is mostly pure excitement and relief. Having waited so long for this DLC, it seems that the fans remaining are true in their loyalty to the franchise, and would like nothing more than to put Frieza in his place again. The timing of the release does come at an odd time, as the next generation consoles release this week and could potentially draw attention away from the DLC.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
