Magic Arena Kaladesh Remastered Limited Event Details | Game Rant

The era of 2016 Magic: The Gathering is temporarily back in style for Magic Arena players and it is time to once again draft armies of thopters to swarm the battlefield in Kaladesh Limited tournaments. The new remastered version of the popular set is available for a limited time on Magic Arena starting today and fans of the digital version of the collectible card game can dive into Kaladesh Remastered tournaments for the next few weeks.

This is the second Remastered set to arrive on Magic Arena, after Amonkhet Remastered, so players had a pretty good idea of what to expect from the tournament offerings and time frame. The Traditional Draft and Sealed tournament are only available for the first week, but the Premier Draft and Draft Challenge will be sticking around a bit longer to continue offering players an alternative to the Zendikar Rising drafts they may be getting used to.

Zendikar Rising just released less than two months ago, but in the lifespan of Magic: The Gathering sets, it’s had plenty of time in the spotlight. The next set, Kaldheim, will arrive in January 2021 so Magic Arena players still have some time before a new Standard legal set arrives to take over the spotlight. Until that point arrives, revisiting the old Kaladesh format is a great way to burn through some gold or gems and get in some draft and sealed tournaments throughout November and early December.

Sealed: November 12–19

Traditional Draft: November 12–19

Premier Draft: November 12–December 18

Draft Challenge: November 28–December 1

Format: Traditional Draft

Event Record: 6 wins or 2 losses (whichever comes first)

Rewards:

6 Wins: 20,000 Gold, 40 Kaladesh Remastered boosters

5 Wins: 15,000 Gold, 30 Kaladesh Remastered boosters

4 Wins: 10,000 Gold, 20 Kaladesh Remastered boosters

3 Wins: 7,500 Gold, 12 Kaladesh Remastered boosters

2 Wins: 4,000 Gold, 6 Kaladesh Remastered boosters

1 Win: 2,000 Gold, 3 Kaladesh Remastered boosters

0 Wins: No Rewards

Entry Fee: 3,000 Gems or 15,000 Gold

The tournament entry fees are in line with usual prices, so players won’t be paying too much of a premium for the Remastered cards, unless they decide to repeatedly drop 15,000 Gold on the Draft Challenge, which can get pretty expensive and drain resources quickly if players aren’t pulling down five or six wins consistently.

As always, players can also queue up for casual or ranked Constructed play at any time. Those matches are free and are the primary way lots of players attempt to climb the ranked Constructed ladder all the way up to the Mythic Tier. Reaching that level of play requires a ton of practice, play, and grinding; but is a great way to try and qualify for special tournament invites and prizes in the competitive card game.

Magic Arena is available now for PC and Mac. A mobile version is currently in development.
