The much anticipated release of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is here. Players are jumping into the action and starting the grind to unlock new items by playing multiplayer, Warzone, and the returning Zombies mode. Players can earn weapons, attachments, and other items by leveling up, and Activision is offering a free weapon blueprint for players to get started.
Activision has offered a “Battle Worn” shotgun and a charm that players can receive in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. In order to receive the bundle, players must log into their Activision account, then go into preferences, and opt-in to email updates. Players will then receive an email containing the blueprint after logging into Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War for the first time.
The weapon blueprint appears to be a Hauer 77, a powerful pump shotgun capable of one-shotting enemies. Because it is a weapon blueprint, the Hauer 77 comes with an extended magazine, and alternate stock and grips. While players can unlock the Hauer 77 by reaching military rank seven, the additional attachments will give players an edge when first starting the game.
The shotgun has a unique black and green camo, complete with a bright green pump grip and also features the MACV-SOG logo on the stock. The charm has yet to be revealed, however Activision has indicated that players will receive the charm around their birthday. The free bundle will allow players to unlock a powerful short-range weapon and keep up with updates happening in Black Ops Cold War.
Along with the release of Black Ops Cold War, Activision has also offered an Endowment Pack containing two weapon blueprints, double XP, and multiple cosmetics inspired by the Call of Duty Endowment charity. All proceeds go to the Call of Duty Endowment charity’s mission of helping veterans secure civilian jobs in the US and UK. Not only will players unlock cool weapons and cosmetics, but the purchase also supports a great cause.
Now that Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is officially out, players who digitally pre-ordered the game are receiving the Confrontations Pack, which contains blueprints for both the M-16 and the AK-47. Players who do not receive any packs can still unlock many weapons, attachments, and equipment through the free military rank levels, however the free Battle Worn bundle for signing up for email updates may make the grind a little easier for close combat fans.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
