Demon’s Souls PS5: Where to Find a Cling Ring for More Health

The long-awaited Demon’s Souls remake is out now alongside the PS5, bringing back the brutally difficult title that helped spawn the Dark Souls series. While the game is as challenging as one would expect, there are some items that can make the experience a bit less harsh, including the Cling Ring. Luckily, the ring is available pretty early on.

The Cling Ring increases the amount of health players have after they die, allowing them to keep 75% of their total rather than the standard 50%. Of course, that’s a huge perk and can mean the difference between winning and losing Demon’s Souls‘ boss fights. The Cling Ring is a bit tucked away, however, so players will need to know where to look if they have any hope of finding it.

To find the Cling Ring in Demon’s Soulstouch the Archstone of the Covetous King in The Nexus. From there, travel to the Gates of Boletaria, which serves as the first proper area after the game’s tutorial. Players are going to spawn on a sort of bridge that leads towards a massive gate. Go forward, but look out for enemies waiting to ambush the player along the way. After reaching the gate, take a left. There will be some more enemies here, as well as a barred door. The Cling Ring is behind the door, but players will need to open it.

Continue along the left path. Eventually, players will begin climbing the innards of the castle wall until they’re spit out on the top wall itself. Once players have reached the top, they’ll need to take another left. There will be an armored enemy with glowing blue eyes in front of a foggy door. It’s a good idea to dispatch the foe here, just to avoid any followers down the next path. Don’t enter the fog, instead continue along to the end of the wall, where there will be another door that leads back down through the interior.

This section can be dangerous, so players will want to stay on their toes. The stairway leading down is somewhat claustrophobic, and there will be a large group of enemies with firebombs and flaming swords towards the bottom. It’s worth tossing a firebomb onto them to deal with them quickly, as they tend to group up, and one firebomb can take care of them all.

Once players have reached the bottom of the stairwell, there will be a lever. Interact with the lever, and the barred door from earlier will open. It’s actually two barred doors, with a body in between them. Interact with the body, and players will pick up the Cling Ring. Equip the Cling Ring, and the health bonus will kick in on the next death. Luckily, the doors stay open, and offer a faster route to the top of the wall. As far as making Demon’s Souls’ gameplay easier, the ring is a godsend, though the bonus only works in Soul form.

Demon’s Souls Remake is available now for PS5.
